My daughter's 12th birthday will occur while on the cruise,
if I tell Disney what will they do?:cake:

We sailed the Wonder this past March when my oldest turned 7. I told DCL before we boarded and at dinner on her birthday (at Triton's) they brought an individual size chocolate birthday cake to her at our table and we all sang. It wasn't overdone, all the waiters did not come out and participate. We liked it.

Have a wonderful cruise and happy birthday to your daughter!

We celebrated my sister's and son's birthday while on board in July. I had asked the head server if they could just provide a slice of cake and sing happy birthday during one of our dinners. He insisted on having a cake made for them at no extra charge to us. He had their names put on the cake, which made them feel very special. My son (13) still talks about what a great night that was for him.

As well as the cake.
Our Head waiter gave my DD a pin.
It is Round with as captain Mickey holding a cake and all around it says "Disney Cruise Line" top
"It"s my Birthday" Bottom

I do not know if this is somthig extra special as I have never seen anyone mention it before. Ans I have been a little reluctant about posting it as to not get anyones hopes or expectaions up.

Being DVC members making many trips my DD is an avid Pin collector and this one is extra special to her.

You can also order room decorations. We did that for dh's 40th birthday. They are in the brochure you get with the cruise docs. I want to say it was around $30-40 but don't remember for sure. You get a happy birthday banner, a table centerpiece and a hanging thing similar to the centerpiece, plus a small cake. It was nice and made the cabin look very festive. The only complaint was they didn't leave but only 1 fork and plate.

They brought a cake to my daughter, sang happy birthday to her, and the head server insisted it was tradition to feed her the first bite. It was her sixteenth birthday and one she will never forget!

The cake had a nice touch to it, a piece of chocolate on top with the ship's likeness. Just make sure to tell them which night you prefer to celebrate.

We celebrated our son's 16th birthday while on the MAgic this July. Our server brought him a cake-no chocolate!! OUr DS does not like chocolate and it did come up at one of our dinners, so I am not sure if it was done on purpose or not!

Anyway, our server did a cute practical joke (I won't tell because I don't was to give it away) with the first bite. Of course, the had the entire dining room sing too!!

Sounds like fun! My birthday falls on the day the ship comes back, so we're celebrating at dinner the night before. For once I don't mind being a year older a day early ;)

Last October 19, we set sail on our twins' 6th birthday. We had taken them to Chef Mickey's the night before to celebrate with just our family. We ordered the room decorations for the stateroom (mentioned above) and at dinner at Triton's that evening they brought out two individual cakes (each topped with a Disney Wonder white chocolate "wave") and all of the waitstaff as well as our family and friends sang to them. It was very special. We also had the WDW birthday buttons from the year before which they wore throughout the day so people were really nice to them (wish we'd gotten the DCL birthday buttons!).

I can't think of a better way to celebrate a special occasion! :cake: :boat:
