Do they just take out trash and make beds?..Can u refuse mousekeeping or just say have them every other day?..do u set that up at the front desk or just inform ur mousekeeper?

Change towels too, you could put the Do Not Disturb on your door for them to not come.

We just returned from The Beach Club, which we LOVED, by the way!! :cool1: Mousekeeping was wonderful! They change sheets every 4 days and you can reuse your towels or get new ones daily! We tried to reuse towels and they gave us clean ones too! We were given shampoo, shower gel, and conditioner as well as bar soaps every day, empty garbage cans, and vacummed. I was very sick one day while there and was given the privacy I requested. We asked to have the sheets changed the next day and they were more than happy to please us!! We had our stuff around the room-clothing and merchandise, and mousekeeping left it untouched. Overall, I thought mousekeeping was incredible! We also left $3/day tip, which we do every place we stay! Have a magical trip! :)

Yes, our first two trips we were in the room for most of the afternoons with napping pre-schoolers. The first few days mousekeeping knocked and DH or I just told them we were fine and they didn't need to worry about coming back later. Then we started using the DND sign on the door. They always left a bag of towels/washcloths/shampoo/etc. We made our own beds, so we weren't too concerned that they only came in every few days to clean everything well and change the sheets.

If you really don't want room service it would be nice to call housekeeping to let them know. yes I know that what the DND sign works but if left on every day they begin to worry if all is okay with you. I had it on my door for two days & was called on the second day asking if all was okay. MHO

If I want to skip housekeeping and it's more than one day, I call them so they don't worry.

For just one day, I'll put up the Do Not Disturb sign on that day.

The big difference between calling them or not calling them for me has been when I call them I do not return to my room with a bag of fresh towels, soap and shampoo outside of it.

Ditto. When I travel alone, I often plan a stay in the room all day and order pizza delivery. I just leave out the sign.

A few years ago, I got sick as asked that Mousekeeping not come to my room for two days until I could safely get out of bed for a period of time. The Mousekeeper very nicely hung a large bag of supplies and clean towels on the door for me to bring in at my convenience.

This reminds me of our trip just a few weeks ago. My mother-in-law and brother-in-law were in their room and my mother-in-law complained that the housekeepers kept coming to their door to see if they were ready for service. I asked if the Do Not Disturb sign was on the outside. It wasn't but for the next five days, it sure was.

Keep that DND sign on your door until you leave in the morning (or afternoon sometimes in our case) and you won't have a problem. You can also leave a note in your room if you just want minimum or if you want anything additional. Calling also helps but it just depends on other things at the time. I'd leave the note.
