I have a silly question. What do kids wear when they visit WDW?

I see a lot of dresses and princess dresses and stuff. I'm planning to bring along DD's princess dresses, but do kids wear this all day at the theme park or just to a princess dinner?
If she only wears it for the dinner, do we go back to our hotel to change or do we bring it along with us?

We do have some Disney-related clothing but not that many.

This is my DD who doesn't mind wearing a princess dress all day long, it will be like a dream come true for her, but still, can she go on rides in the dresses?

My dd (5) always wears her Belle dress for breakfast at CRT and she will keep it on for a little bit afterwards but will eventually change. It gets to hot to be in the big dress, and it sometimes makes her itch from all the sequence & glitter. I'll bring a change of clothes with when she's ready to change.
As far as other days depends on when your going. I always bring shorts, capris, tshirts, tank tops & a pair of jeans and a sweatshirt or light jacket for any cooler nights. She wears sandals most of the time, but I do bring a pair of sneakers .

My kids were just toddlers when we went, so we stuck to regular clothes with a few Disney tees. Now that ODD is older, I plan to let her wear a princess dress when we have breakfast at CRT and in Norway with princesses. However, we'll change after the meals because it's too hot to wear that all day. I'm stocking up on Disney tees for our summer trip for my 4 kids and 3 cousins that are going, and will buy dresses for the older girls. The kids will wear Keens shoes that are water-friendly and slip resistant. We usually plan on shorts/skorts and short-sleeve tops with a hoodie, windbreaker and a couple pair of jeans in case it's cool. I pack ziplocs with each day's clothes for quick dressing in the morning and label by kid and day--that way I can coordinate them for the park we are visiting or if I want them all in a certain color.

My dd wore her princess dress all day at MK and Epcot, disney shirts the other days. MK she got so much attention in her dress it was magical. The characters bowed to her, kissed her hand, etc. Epcot was for her princess dinner.

We were there in August. Her dresses are shorter and easier in the parks than a lot we saw. So glad I got those vs the full length ones.

Depends on the kid. At age 2 and 3, my DD insisted on wearing Princess or Minnie Mouse costumes every day all day at the parks. They get a ton of special attention if they are dressed up and she loved it (CMs saying "Hello Princess" etc) She has never had any trouble on rides in the princess dresses. After those ages she was less interested in wearing them every day (she is 7 now). From about age 4 until today, she still wants to wear a princess dress at CRT, and that day, she usually wears it all day. (Our only rule is that we aren't doing Splash Mountain in a princess dress!- no wet soggy big dress). Other than that, she wears regular clothes- which for her usually means either dresses, or a shirt and skirt/skort. If your DD doesn't mind wearing a princess dress all day long, you may find that she wants to do that at WDW.

Oh- and we also don't let her wear Princess shoes at WDW. She has to wear "sensible shoes" with the Princess dress. If she really wants, and she has gotten a new pair of shoes at BBB, then we will let her switch shoes and wear the princess shoes at CRT, and she can change them out in a line for a princess meet and greet- but other than that- she has to wear regular shoes.
