Hi...
What do the sitters do? Could they take my DD10 swimming at the hotel pool? I am not sure we will use this option really... I feel badly going to Disney World as a family and then spending an evening away from her.... does not feel quite right...
But, yet I would love to have some time alone with my DH...

Any ideas, feelings, opinions?

thanks :)

I don't know what the in-room sitters do, but would you consider doing one of the child care centers? DD5 & DS9 have stayed at The Neverland Club at the Polynesian and Simba's Cubhouse at the AKL and loved both. They were able to hang out with kids their own ages, have something to eat and play while Mom & Dad get a few hours to themselves. During our next trip it will be our anniversary (#17) so they will go to The Neverland Club for 2 hours while we go to Kona Cafe. :)

Good luck!

Jill

I agree with JESW. I haven't used an in-room sitter, but I would not be comfortable with that at all. I think the child care centers would be a great option. The kids would have a great time and your mind could be more at ease with them in a group setting.

Ditto on the Kids' Clubs... when my DD10 found out we were going back to the Beach Club, one of the first questions she asked was, "do we get to go play at the Kid's Club there?" We let our girls stay there while we went to dinner one night and the next night, they talked us into going out again, so they could go back to the Club!

We will be staying at the POR.... can we use those child care sitters? Do you have to make a reservation?
Thanks for that option!! I would feel MUCH better having her in a group setting!

As of this minute, the kids' clubs are open to any WDW resort guests. It is a first come, first serve arrangement and you can call for reservations to 1-407-WDW-DINE up to 90 days in advance, just like for a Priority Seating for a meal. You just need to know which club and when you want your daughter to be there. If you decide not to use the kids' club, I believe you need to give them a cancellation at least 24 hours in advance, or there is a $15 per child late cancellation fee.

Thanks! I will look into that a little more... still feeling a little guilty taking time away from her... we will see..

thanks for the #!

My DS (2) is too young for the kids clubs, so we use Fairy Godmothers. But it sounds as if your daughter would be a good candidate for the kids clubs...she'll probably find someone her own age to hang out with, and be just as happy there as spending time with you.

When I was 10, I LOVED having some time away from my folks.

DS/8 is already asking, "When can I go back to the Neverland Club?"!!!!!!!!!!!!He and DD/6 stayed there 2 summers ago when we went. DH and I carried our oldest DD/14 and her best friend to Epcot that evening. The older girls got to do some things they wanted to do without the little ones complaining or not being able to ride. They each loved their nights! The next morning DS wanted to know if he could go back to NC. So, on our last night at WDW, we again took him to NC and took the girls out to eat and shopping at Downtown Disney. I highly recommend the Neverland Club!:sunny:

*giggle*

I still remember when I went to one of the kids clubs at the Poly when we went years ago... I was 10, maybe? All three of us kids went and had a BLAST!!!!!!! No guilt needed for mom and dad, we loved it!!!!!!!!!

Still have great memories from it! Plus, my mom bought us a disposable camera to take with us so I shot the whole thing on us that night, so those pics are now proudly displayed in the album with that years Disney pics =)

love the idea of the camera! I was going to get her some for the parks she would love that freedom!

thanks for all your ideas.... I will check out Neverland I think!
