What do I need to show at check in for AP discount?

I'm confused. I was reading I will need an activated AP to check into the resort to get the AP code rate.

But, if I haven't been to a park yet and don't have an activated AP but just the voucher to get the AP what do I do?

allears says you can't get an activated AP at the resort-just the parks.

When checking in with a voucher, many times the CM checking you in will just ask to come back and show the activated AP.

I can't believe I'm obsessing about this already-I'm not even going until next year so I'm not even guaranteed an AP discount yet.

I just booked the Poly last night so I am VERY EXCITED.
