...to get an ADR at Chef Mickey's breakfast?!?! I think booking a seat on the space shuttle is easier!

But seriously. I NEVER book my trips 180 days out because I live in Tampa. MAYBE I book them 30-45 days out. So of course by the time I call for ADRs they're all gone. I have called for every trip I've taken for the past 3 years (which is like 20 times) and NEVER gotten a reservation for two. Now we're staying at the CR next week and I have got to have my Chef Mickey's, or else it will be like going to the prom without a date. So disappointing.

So, DISers, here's what I want to know: Have any of you ever gotten a CMs reservation at the last minute? Or, did you have luck with walkups first thing in the morning? Will they even take a walkup? What do I do??? heeeeellllpppppp! :confused3

Advice, please--for once I'm asking and not giving :goodvibes

You're going to be there at a very busy time - Easter! my guess is it will be very difficult to get in at all. But if you want to try a walk-up, your best bet will probably be right when they open...but I wouldn't count on getting in. (By the way, they don't do 180 day bookings anymore...it's all 90 days. Not that it will make any difference, just an FYI:thumbsup2)

Ugh...I know...stupid spring break the week before Easter...what were they thinking over here? :headache:

I did get Cat. 1 HDDR tickets and a Tutto Italia lunch, so I guess I should count my blessings.

It's also tougher than ever with the great dining plan deals they have been doing AND now free dining. It makes it harder and harder to get in if you don't start calling 90 days out.

Keep trying - you never know what can happen.

For future reference, though this is a rumor and am not sure it's true, I have heard that Disney may release a few more tables available for restaurants at the 30-day window. I also heard, more than once, that you could try booking for a different number of people, as sometimes they may be able to seat a group of 4, but not just 2. This may improve your odds.

I did that once to get a table at Le Cellier (booked a table for 3 as it was all they had, thanks to advice from a nice Guest Relations CM in the Magic Kingdom!) and then we told them when we got there that the third person couldn't make it. They then sat us at a table for 2. I hate being dishonest about my party size, and I know a lot of people probably disagree with this practice, but I might try it this time because I'm desperate.
