What do I do?? I got banned from VMK. :(

Pixiepal got banned the other day for "impersonating" a cast member!

We were in my room with my STALKER and Genie and many many others. Genie was joking that his green sandals were only available to the "charmed circle" and pixiepal then says "I'm a cast member, give me your inferno or you will get band! LOL!"

and she got banned herself!!!

We couldn't believe it. a 24 hour ban for playing around with friends.

no he was not the first person benned.

Sorry but they were the first person that posted they were banned from the DIS. I know they weren't the first person banned there have been loads.


Shorts- Sometimes I think the CM only see snippets of convos and people get banned. I think they should always warn before banning. Unless it is foul mouth talk or someone being really mean.

I think with any of the bans it seems to be a knee-jerk reaction when like someone else said a staff member only sees part of a conversation.

I think when the warning box comes up you should be allowed a live chat box with the staff member in order to state your case.

This box could be limited and the staff member given the option to end the conversation so it doesn't turn into a long drawn out argument that takes up the staff member's time too much.

I rather they ban someone for 24 hrs by mistake then allow a predator slip by. We all have to be very careful. I set up my little one's character and only I have his password. If i'm not sitting next to him while he plays, usually only pirates, then I'm in the room checking often. We have rules he must use to continue play:
1) if someone talks to him or wants to be a friend he must call me and I will take care of it.
2) No trades
3) If he wants to leave a game to go to another, I must be there while he switches to new land or game.
4) He is allow 1/2 hr a day on VMK then he must get off the computer.

So far so good, the house rules are working for us.

That sounds like a good plan there Twirler Girl.

I think anyone with little ones playing should vet the people on their friend list.

Even better if you can log on at the same time and get to know the person yourself. I know personally I talk to a lot of friends who have little ones playing and I always make it a point to check with them before allowing their little ones to add me as a friend.

VMK is a family thing and if we all watch out for each other then the predators shouldn't stand a chance of getting a foothold.
