What do Canadians have that Americans don't?

Another vote for Smarties!

Also "all dressed" chips. I'm not sure if they have them now, but 10 years ago they didn't. One of my American friends still talks about them (so obviously they don't have them where she lives).

Wonderful idea, btw!

Swiss Chalet is uniquely Canadian, but I'm not sure how you'd wrap up rotisserire chicken (and don't forget the dipping sauce!) LOL

You can buy the Swiss Chalet dipping sauce in packets at Loblaws. We plan to take some down with us for our own use at our rental house, to have with those pre-cooked rotisserie chickens! My mom went into a grocery store in Fla. this past winter and asked if they had something similar and they looked at her like she had two heads!

Beaver Tails and Toques. back bacon. Canada flags.

My sister lives in the states, and I always have to bring her these! She also likes the ketchup chips. (actually, all the diff flavours are good to bring)

The cookies are for her coworkers...they LOVE them....they call them mini pancake cookies...she just buys the no name brand ones for them!

Hawkins Cheesies. Always a big hit when I bring them - so much better than Cheetos!

Yet another vote here for some Smarties.

And those Lays dill pickle and ketchup chips.....we don't have those.

How about a quart of motor oil with the Esso or Petro-Canada logo on it?

Include a box of Allegra allergy medicine.....it's still prescription only in the U.S. but OTC in Canada.

I picked up at a dollar store some Canadian Oh Henry bars. "Canadian" was written across the wrapper and I think they were maple flavoured.

When I was meeting up with friends I met on the boards here for our DCL cruise, I picked up a small moose change purse and filled it with one of each of our coins. The little girl was 5 and very excited about it. She ended up bringing it to school for "M" day show and tell because it was a "Moose with Money from her 'Nadian friends".

And after they eat all of these Canadian delicacies, you might want to bring them some Gravol too.

Every American we talk to that finds out we are from Canada, says we are so lucky to have Gravol!! So I second the Gravol addition!!

How about the Stanley Cup?

Oh wait a minute. That hasn't been in Canada for several years! :lmao:

You can't get the acetominophen/codeine combo OTC in the U.S. either - but in Canada you can get it OTC, sort of - you have to ask the pharmacist. Generally referred to as Tylenol 1's (only 8mg of codeine per tablet).

So, you could bring those - but not too much - or you could be charged with traficking narcotics!
