What Disney Restaurant Would You NOT want to go again and why?

My wife and I will never be returning to Raglan Road or to the Rainforest Cafe. We had a similar experience at RR to one of the other posters who said that when they went at a slow time the waitstaff couldn't be bothered to do anything. That's exactly what happened to us. The food is also not that great. It's basically like going to an Applebee's that serves nominally Irish food. I don't understand why people think that place is so awesome... it must have something to do with the bar and evening crowd.

The Rainforest Cafe at AK was just terrible in every respect. The food quality has suffered greatly since the heyday of Rainforest Cafes seven to ten years ago and the service was abysmal. Our waiter forgot to bring us our check three different times after we specifically asked for it (and he actually admitted forgetting which I found rather amusing at the time). The place wasn't even that busy! My wife and I have written RCs off our list completely whether in Disneyworld or not.

Another vote for Coral Reef. My Lobster Bisque wasn't even lukewarm and when I nicely asked for it to be heated the server got a major attitude. The rest of the meal was not pleasant.

We will NEVER return to the Rainforest Cafe, Animal Kingdom, Downtown Disney, or otherwise. The food was just plain awful... I can't even describe how disappointed I was. Service was so-so, but the wait times, even with reservations, were obscene. We had a 1:30 PM reservation, arrived at the podium at 1:15 PM and checked in. After about 1/2 hour in the gift shop, our name was never called. I went back and checked if they had our table ready yet but to no avail. Our total wait time was 1 hour, and the restaurant was only 3/4 full, there was nobody ahead of us to get their seats, and I saw PLENTY of available tables.... :sad2:

Wolfgang Puck's in DTD. It was migrane-inducing noisy, we had the rudest waiter on the planet, and my dinner was inedible. Never again! Such a shame, since WP Express is so good!

I agree on this one as well. Ended up sticking us on the patio because of some screwup with our ressie. If we waited for a table indoors it was goign to be be "an hour"..:scared1: remember now, we had ADR's done some 3 months prior. Food was not "all that" and the our waiter was just down right rude.. That was "one" night and sure that's not the case everynight, but we won't be back..

Tony's and Boma...never going back

We ate at some pretty amazing places during our last trip, but we won't be returning to either of these restauarnts. Tony's was so bad, I left there and went across the street to guest services, where I wrote up a complaint about the experience.

CRT.

I don't want the photos (would have to pay for them anyway), am not interested in meeting princesses, and I hear the food is not all that. The cost is for the atmosphere, not the food.

I feel the same way about Akershus and I used to love Akershus before it went princess.

HUH? I'm confused by this. Isn't the photo included in the price? And also, you are saying that "you hear" the food isn't good--so you've never been there? So, how could you never go back, if you've never been in the first place? Or did you just go before the princess theme was introduced? IDK, I just think of it like a different restaurant completely.

What's your opinions on the Earl of Sandwich? We never tried it but were thinking about it.

Earl of Sandwich has a big selection, I was very surprised by that and its good. Plus Ghiardelli is right near there.

I think everyone should try Cindy's at least once. It's the castle for goodness sakes.

Thanks for your quick response!! My son's a meatball parm sub-head so EOS is a do. And Ghiradelli???? Haven't been to the one in Disney but the one in SF is to die for!!!

We went there last year... We liked the food... But we did not like the long wait on line and we had a great deal of trouble finding a table... One of waited nearly 20 minutes on line for the food and the other waited for a table to be free...That took 35 minutes... Did not feel it was worth such a long wait... Good thing about it is that is one of the few places in DTD that takes the Dining Plan in DTD.... I would never wait on the long line again but we though it was good (for what it is).

Agreed. I wanted to do CRT breakfast with the princesses because it was something I hadn't done before, back before the price went through the roof and the photo package was mandatory.

And you're absolutely right about Akershus, too. I refuse to go there now because it's another forced photo op and high price for a restaurant that was never busy, had good food at a reasonable price. I understand why they needed another princess venue, but it's still disappointing.

I really hadn't given this topic much thought before, but the princess "surcharge" took both places off my list.

The only place that I would never do again is the ABC Commisary. Seriously how can screw up a burger that badly? I don't know how, but they did it there. Just horrid.

I'm iffy on Tony's. I wasn't terribly happy with them my last trip, but my friend really liked what she had and our waiter was really great. I didn't hate what I had, but was pretty blah about it. For what you pay, I'd like expect a little more than blah.

Last question on EOS because I don't want to appear to be hijacking the thread, which I'm not. Now, we'll be getting in at Pop around noonish, so by the time we get our wagons rolling it will be around one-ish, which will bring us to DTD around 1:30 give or take. Do you think the lines will be shorter or won't it matter since it seems EOS is pretty popular?

We would not do 50's PT again... DD16 and DD's BFF thought we were doing it again this last trip in April because we were walking that way to SW and almost had a revolt!!! It was nasty!!! There were five of us and we had four different dishes (DD and BFF ordered the same). None of them were edible, especially not the root vegetable hash.

I think that it is popular because it is one of the few counter service places that takes the dining plan in DTD...If my memory serves me, we eat around 12:30-1:00 when the lines were long...I don't know if it was just that day or if it like that most days...Maybe someone else will know more.

I would rather have a gun to my head before I would eat at Planet Hollywood again!

I went there in Jan. 07 with best friend on our girls' trip to WDW. Now here it is, about 8:30 p.m. and it's jam-packed. And loud. All we want is "an adult beverage" and something basic. The waitress was very put off with the fact that all we wanted was two glasses of white wine to drink and not the "special Planet Hollywood whatever" in the souvenier mug. Nope, no thanks.

Then it took 45 minutes for a salad and a chicken sandwich. My sandwich tasted just like the fries, which tasted like cardboard. And were cold. Now, I am in no way a picky eater -- I will inhale anything :lmao: But when I consider sending food back, it's bad!

My best friend's salad was doing the backstroke in some sickening salad dressing. And then there were some odd rice things covering the entire friggin' thing. She had two bites and when the waitress came over (about five minutes later) to see if we were done, she forced my friend to take a doggie bag. About 15 minutes later, my friend had to find the little girl's room and her "dinner" made a reappearance. We threw out the salad.

Our dinner that night came in the form of giant hot fudge sundaes from Ghiradelli. Mmmmmmmmm ....... :worship:

When we go in Oct., I know we have the voucher for food, but I told my dad "No way!!!!!!!!!!" :scared:

My favorite place to dine in Epcot is Marrakesh. :thumbsup2

I have to say that I'm glad someone like it because that's got be the worst food for me. It was tastless! The CM were not friendly and acted like we were stupid vacationers.

Disney Studios - 50's Prime Time : I also have a hard time suspending my disbelief (something I'm usually good at) when someone who is clearly younger than me is pretending (and not very well) to be my mom. I dunno. I know people love this place, but I really think this is one of the few Disney places where the waitstaff primarily ignores childless adults I won't be wasting my time going back.

I do agree with you on this one. I didn't like the feeling of seating at the next table because of the tight fitting tables. Plus the meatloaf was to dry that it could have been a sponge.

We were there Sept 07 - The food was good but the kitchen is open making the restaurant VERY noisey. Not really sure if I'd do it again:confused3

I won't go back to Chef Mickey's for dinner again. The food was awful and the service was the worst I've ever experienced on Disney property. Server was non-existant  :headache: and the food was just nasty.
