My kids loved it. My 8 yr old was a little disappointed when I told him we weren't staying there this year. It was very clean and still had a new feeling to it. It is big but it was alot easier to get around than what you might think. Not as much Disney theme like what is at Movies, but still fun. I would definately stay there again.
We just returned from a week at POP on Sunday. We did not have a fun trip because our children got sick, but POP cm's were AMAZING!!!! You can read about it at POP-incredible service.
We've stayed there 1 or 2 nights before or after our DVC reservations.
The rooms have always been clean. We've found the rooms and food court to be superior to AllStars, and in fact, based on our last All Stars experience, if POP isn't available, we'll stay offsite for those nights.
We've stayed at POP twice, both times immediately following a stay in a Deluxe (BWI and AKL). We LOVE Pop. In fact if I could get it for Christmas instead of POFQ, I'd switch in a heartbeat.
There's a great atmosphere there, the theming is very fun. Pools are great. The CMS are always friendly and the Everything POP Store is IMO the best gift shop of all the resorts we've been in (that includes the Poly).
We spent our first night there in August and my kids (11 and 5) loved it. The resort means almost nothing to DH so he was fine with it. I thought it was OK for what it was....a room on property for $75. We spend a lot of time at the resort, so amenities matter to me. Pop doesn't do it for me.
I just got back from 9 nights at Pop on Saturday. I loved it. The theming was so fun, the store/food court were great, the room was bigger than I had imagined after reading the threads, and the cms' were great. For the price, it was excellent.
We love the POP! Much better than the All-Stars. We actually like it better than the CB as well. We also like POFQ if you are thinking about a moderate resort!
One thing, hairdryers in the rooms seem "hit & miss" we've had rooms with them wall mounted, and rooms without them. I wish they would install them in all rooms. Maybe they are working on it?
We all really disliked Pop. The place was heaving and noisy. We had very inconsistent mousekeeping in our area, where the room was even touched on two separate days. The food area/shop was a bottleneck, but the food court choice was good. We also had smoke coming through the vents all the time - horrible. Worst of all was the bus service. At the height of free dining (2006) the queues for buses were awful and we even had a wait of 40 mins in the morning for one of the parks. They knew they had a problem during that week but it was only fixed in the last few days. Many people were complaining. It was a big disappointment after staying at the All Stars. For us it would be the All Stars again but I would never go back to Pop.
The majority of posts are very positive! I am glad to see that! We are staying there is 2008, after having stayed at SSR in 2007 and LOVING it! If we wanted to come back to WDW (and we did!) we had to choose a value (financially). We just LOVED staying at SSR, it is so beautiful and well laid out (not to mention having several bus stops and a balcony)! I have been a bit nervous about Pop... these posts help to alleviate most of that. We did book a preferred at Pop, if that helps at all.
i'm yet to have any opinons on POP yet, but we have our first visit to it in August really looking forward to it, gonna get my photo in front of all the statues lol, thou i will have probably had enough after a 1 week in one room with my family, then will be off to our villa with space!!
