The King Cake came to us as a gift from Louisiana. The explanation as to why it came yesterday

It was supposed to go out on February 15th, but because of the weather and then FedEx was busy with Covid Vac. deliveries. King cakes were put on the back burner. Cannata's had to wait for FedEx to make their deliveries. Happy belated Mardi Gras.


Now yesterday was 1/2 way through Lent, so in a way it was fitting! we love our Louisiana Cajun branch of family, by marriage! They have wonderful food celebrations!

I am glad that I was lzy and did not internet search...thank you for the info...in Oregon we ate pancakes before lent at the methodist church. that is the extent of lent and mardi gras for me....other than the Mardi GRas float parts that sit along side the train track all year round after leaving the Jungle Cruise berms and entering into NOS and the famous telegraph speech.

so as you leave the most non disney plot of soil, backside of jungle cruise berm, you enter NOS, greeted by float parts. If you enter on a train that has bench seats facing to the right and not straigh ahead, then likely as a firsttime visitor you will miss the old wood train station and that annyounng very loud racket coming from behind your back and if sitting lower..but what it actually is ...is the opening day message that walt gave at disneyland....in morse code over a telegraph wire....though it is coming from a loud speaker....not a high value trivia question as most of us Anaheim freaks know that trivia...but not many knowof the 3rd boat in NOS...that is high ranking trivia...up there with the three most important trees in adventureland.
