What did you have for dinner last night?

Gisele, there's a "drive-in" in the Napa area, it's a dive and actually has a walk up window where you order, it was on DD&D a while ago as well. We drive past it often, we've never stopped but it's always busy.....and I'm totally drawing a blank on the name of it. :( And of course, we have a Sonic in Vacaville, but I thought the burger at FG was better than Sonic would have been. :)

It's Taylors's Refresher... I was just there in April! YUMMMMMMMMMY!

We had leftover BBQ which we bought on our way home from a vacation to San Antonio. The BBQ place was Lum's in Junction, TX-some of the best! I'm so spoiled from good BBQ. Still won't keep me from trying the Big Thunder BBQ all you can eat at DL. Can't wait!

There used to be a place in Colusa called Rick's that was amazing! The last time we were through there the place had changed hands and the name was different but the food was just as good.

I had Five Guys for the first time last weekend, it was soooooo good!!!!

Last night we had Chinese, Dynasty Beef (restaurant special), Lemon Chicken, Beef Tomato Chow Mein. YUM

I like Five Guys better than In and Out.

Yes, Lori. That's the one. That used to be the high school when my dad grew up in Colusa a million years ago. HWY 20 is such a fun road.:rotfl: I love their deep fried mushrooms. Totally decadent but oh so good!

Now I need to desperately go to a tasty drive in... my mouth is watering here people...
Please pass the wet nap.... Anyway, gracias for the information Pixie, Kylie, Kaoden and the rest of the gang. :)
I live in Sonoma County, Ca so I consider Nor Cal to be SF, Marin, Sonoma, Mendocino and perhaps a bit further on as well. I consider Solano County and Napa to be more East than North, IDK that is just how it seems to me. I think I am rambling at this point, so I am going to do something else now, thank ya'.... :faint:

~~ I love you Phil and you will forever be with me! Forever my very best and most special friend! I love you to no end. ~~

Heh. There's still quite a lot of state north of Sonoma. That's actually more like central CA. Sacramento is 2 hours south of me, and Oregon is still 2 hours north. And we've got some great stuff up here. Maybe I shouldn't tell anyone though, perhaps it's better that southerners don't realize we exist.

It's a cute little farm town, my Mom had a cousin that lived there a million years ago, we used to spend Sundays there... the road from Yuba City/ Marysville, to Colusa is so pretty I think... all of those farms. Traffic is bad though nowadays...
:)

Gisele,
If you ever make it to Scoopers in Sparks, NV try the Strawberry milkshake.. it tastes just like homemade ice cream! Now I need to get one this weekend!

Well just remember, the Big Thunder BBQ won't be the same as the TX BBQ, if you compare them you'll probably be disappointed. lol

It's really good!! Great burgers and onions rings too. It's on Prater Way, in Sparks... get off 80 at Rock BLVD and go right onto Prater.

Part of it it east bay in Solano but some is north bay. Napa I consider being straight up north bay.

Yes, there is a whole lot of California left. My favorite part is north of you. I love the Mt Shasta, Burney area of the state. I would love to retire to that area.

Years ago I was in Anderson doing inventory at the Holiday Market. There used to be the best hamburger place right next store. They had the best fries. Are they still there?

I think that area is really suffering from growing pains. I used to stay with my grandparents all the time when I was a little girl. I loved Colusa. It truly is a Small World!

I don't think so, we don't have a Holiday Market, unless you're talking about the one off 273, which is actually in Redding or the one in Cottonwood. I'm originally from Red Bluff but left the state for over a decade. I moved back to the area 7 years ago, and to Anderson about 4 years ago. I think there used to be a Holiday on Balls Ferry, but it's just a bunch of shops now.

I miss the old places a lot, when I was a kid we always went to Redding to shop and stopped at the Pac Out for lunch, best burgers and fries on the planet. But they've been gone for a while. Redding does still have Dam Burger, and there are Giant Burgers all over around here, amazing fries along with the massive burgers. Red Bluff has the Tremont Cafe, the Green Barn, Francisco's and they still have a TJs and of course Hal's for frosties. This is making me hungry.

On the topic of the thread: last night I had an oven fried pork chop with broccoli and a breadstick. It was delish. I also found that cooking for one is quite a challenge.

It was Cottonwood now that you mention it. I don't know why I got confused on that.

I grew up staying Red Bluff with my grandparents. I really loved visiting them. They had this great old house with koi ponds in the back yard and a great front porch that you could sit on and enjoy the evening air. Sigh.

And well I too shall stick with the thread topic. We had homemade nachos last night. Yummy!

Chicken breast in the slow cooker, with roasted potato's and carrots...in a white wine glaze..

Do they only do burgers? One of our group doesn't eat red meat at all, so unless they have turkey burgers or chicken that's a no go. lol But I'll remember it because we go through Reno/Sparks all the time when we go to Idaho to visit my family. :)

Uh oh, depending on your age your grandparents probably knew my family, Red Bluff is a small town! Parts of Cottonwood are lovely, Main Street has so many old buildings still standing. My ex-husband and my oldest daughter live there and they love it. I'm not sure about the burger place, I don't get there very much and since I live a mile away from the Wal-Mart in Anderson that's where I do most of my grocery shopping as it's so convenient. I may have to go check it out soon.

If your family grew up in Red Bluff it is entirely possible. It always seemed like everyone knew everyone to me.:rotfl: I agree about Cottonwood, I had a friend that used to call it Cottonpatch. The name stuck with me. That whole area up there is beautiful, hot but beautiful. We haven't been up that was for about 6 or 7 years. DH and I decided that next summers vacation is going top be either in McCloud or Burney.
