What did you get for your 4th FP

Hi,

My family is visiting WDW this April and according to Easy WDW and Touring Plans the predicticted rowd level is a 5. I've read several posts about the FP+ kiosks and their ease of use. But what I'm really curious about is what FP's may be available at the kiosks by the time we've used our 3 FP's. Can you tell me what FP's were available for the 4th especially for Epcot and DHS and at what time you accessed the kiosk for your additional FP?

Hi,

For the most part, what is available as a 4th here is for things you likely won't need or want a 4th for. There's no need to tie up an extra FP+ at 3 pm for Great Movie Ride at 5 pm when the standby wait is 15 minutes.

Magic Kingdom will provide you the best options for a 4th option where you can usually expect to find almost everything except for A&E, Mine Train, sometimes Space.

Hi Cormoran: I too am curious as to just what others have been able to get on the 4th fp. We only used the kiosks once last fall at Hollywood studios. We always used our 3 fp's in the am park, and left to rest at noonish. Then off to another park for the evening. We never used fps in the evening, but just out of curiosity, we checked out a kiosk in hs at about 4pm, and we got star tours. Nothing else was available at that time. Didn't bother us because we rode tsm, tot, etc in the am with fp's, but if we had been planning on using the 4th for something we really wanted to do, we would have been disappointed. Hope this helps:)

MK - Haunted Mansion

AK - Kali, expedition Everest (2xs)

Epcot - nothing good left for 4th

HS - star Tours

We've only used the 4th FP+ system in the MK and we were able to get:

Jungle Cruise
Haunted Mansion
Pirates of the Caribbean
Magic Carpets of Aladdin

as our 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th.

MK - goofini, little mermaid, Winnie the pooh, Buzz - all in one night starting at 9:00pm. Another day was able to get Speedway and Aladdin carpets. May not be hot commodities but all of these rides had over 20 minute lines at the time and we sent a runner to a fp+ kiosk and were able to get immediate fp+'s and skip the line.

DHS - Fantasmic

Epcot - spaceship earth and figment. Didn't need either

Haven't ever tried to get a 4th at AK. Such an easy park to tour without.

At MK we were able to get Jungle Cruise and Buzz Lightyear. We used the app to change the Buzz Lightyear FP to a Splash Mountain FP. None of the mountains were available at the kiosk.

This is from another thread that I posted to.

In late July, we got extra FP+ for Buzz, JC, and HM. This was a typical summer day (crowd level 7-9). We got the 1st extra FP+ probably around or after 2pm. BTMRR had been down. There wasn't anything for 7DMT in the afternoon, and I didn't ask about later.

We also got extra FP+ at AK sometime around 2-3pm and later for Primevil Whirl. Safari was available but not until 5pm or later. Dinosaur was also available, but we didn't want that. Didn't try for EE.

We didn't try for extra FP+ anywhere else.

First week of December, around 4ish was able to get a FP for Space Mountain within 2 hours later (in the 6:00 hour) for 5 people.

3 weeks ago on a Saturday--around 5-6ish, all mountains were gone. Secured Barnstormer because my 4yo wanted to ride. It was for after 8pm. I think it was beneficial at the moment they rode, but then the line was done for the next 2 times they rode. So probably unnecessary. Don't know what else remained as we were seeking a coaster option. But the CM announced only the mountains and mine train had none left.

ETA: I think having the first 3 completed earlier in the day helps. On the Saturday we went, we hand morning plans at home and did not even arrive and start rides until 1pm.

Wouldn't it be nice if you could get more than one at kiosks? Maybe someday.

Our MK day is expected to be a 7 or 8 but I'm really hopeful that we can get Buzz and the Haunted Mansion.

I think we had the worst luck at Epcot where it seemed like the only things left after 11am were Living with the Land or Captain EO. That was the week of and the week after Thanksgiving, with EasyWDW crowd ratings from 4 to 8.

Hollywood Studios always seemed to have Star Tours available but that's one of those attractions where you can enter the FP queue at the same time as someone in the SB queue, walk side by side thru most of the queue and then have the person in the SB queue pass you because you have to stop at the second reader station.

Animal Kingdom we never stayed past early afternoon so we never tried the kiosks there.

Magic Kingdom obviously had the best availability later in the day but it too would run out of the mountains pretty quickly on the busier day and the selections that were left were for things that the SB line wasn't that long to begin with.

Overall, I think the kiosks work best on crowd level 5 and below days.

Buzz, Pooh, Peter Pan*, LM
(* it was a Small World FP+ we took because nothing worthwhile was available , but IASW went down at the beginning of the window, so we got the e-mail saying we could use it at a number of attractions including PP! after PP, IASW was back open and we walked on ;).

Dec 28th 7DMT.
After 10p, I somehow changed a Jungle cruise? 4th FP into a 11:20p 7DMT! (It wasn't on the kiosk, but I kept changing times and attractions and it showed up)

So based on everyone's responses so far: MK you can get practically anything except the Mountains. You might even get the mountains! AK: you can get almost anything, DHS you can probably get Great Movie ride, Star Tours and Fantasmic. Epcot: nothing, nada, zero, zip! Unless you want Figment or EO, of course.

This is great information thanks everyone. You've told me when we might benefit from a visit to a kiosk and when it would be pointless. That helps a lot. I know it's all guesswork, but if everyone has an idea of what might be available, it's easier to decide whether we want to wait in line or not.

Now another question: To those of you who got the 4th FP, did you feel you needed it or would it have been just as easy to ride SB? I know some of you already answered this, but some didn't.

So basically, do you think it's worth waiting in the kiosk line for a 4th FP rather than waiting in the SB line?

We needed our FP+ for Jungle Cruise. We didn't need it for Splash, but only because the temperature dropped. We did not really need one for Buzz Lightyear. We ended up riding that standby and waited about 15 minutes.

I'm glad to hear the Buzz, Haunted Mansion, and Jungle cruise are sometimes available for the 4th (or5th or 6th) FP. I plan to schedule my 3 FP for the harder to get ones in the morning and then try to get some others afterwards. I kept checking the lines app today and there were plenty of FPs available except for SDMT and Anna & Elsa.

For next time I will take a 4th fp even it's not one I want bc you can change the experience from your phone.

Hi Prudence,
Am I correct in assuming that the kiosks have different availability than the app? So you book a "throw away" ride via the kiosk and then change it around on the app?

The kiosks don't have different availability, but just what's available at that moment. From your phone you can keep checking to see if something better popped up - usually if someone cancels.
