What did you get for Valentine's Day?

We both agreed to get each other 'trifles' since our 5th Anniversary is the 2nd of next month. I got him a POTC Ipod holder, a card, and a Donald Duck dvd collection. He got me a Dorothy and Glenda Barbie, and a box of pot of gold chocolates. :)

The best Valentines present ever from my husband.....
After 4 years of nagging, not just from me, but from his brother who was diagnosed four years ago with colon cancer; my husband went in this morning for a colonoscopy. His first ever. He's 51. They found a polyp the size of a strawberry and removed it. It is off to the lab but they said they were pretty sure it's precancerous. If he had waited just 3-6 more months to come in they said, he might not have been so lucky, and at the least would have surely faced major surgery to remove it.
Hey, what can top that?:)

that's an awesome valentine's gift...not only for you but for your husband!!

Just cards for each other...no gifts this year. I'm sick of getting ripped off every year on 2/14...flowers are double the price and candy is not cheap either. DH's birthday is Friday so we are going out for a nice dinner. I told him to hold off on buying chocolate because it will all be 50% off this weekend....he's glad he married a practical woman...lol. We try to make everyday Valentine's Day in our house (i.e. random acts of kindness etc.) so we don't feel like we need a Hallmark holiday to show one another how much we care :)

We don't do anything for Valentine's day either - we call it the Hallmark Holiday. Seriously, we also were tired of hired priced, limited menus and we don't need one day to show love - it happens every moment of every day

I am not getting anything (we don't celebrate V-Day), but my unborn child got the hiccups.

I'm tellin' you, Wendy, that baby is a prodigy! :rotfl2: Glad to hear you're doing well--I've been thinking of you. In a nice, hope the baby and Wendy are doing ok kind of way, not a stalker-ish kind of way. ;) Except, you know, I'm waiting for you to have that kid and take another trip just so I can read the trip report!

I did not get anything. I know this is not a very popular view, but both DH and I think Valentine's day is such a made up holiday. When we first got together (over 25 years ago) I told him to never buy me flowers on V day because they jack up the prices just because it is V day. And that if he could not be romantic during the year, then I don't want him doing it just because it is V day. So I am a very lucky woman. DH is romantic all year long. I get flowers all the time, just because he wanted to give me flowers. I get little gifts all year long just because. But because of the snow, this year I did get a great gift, DH was home all day with me. Now that is a nice gift!

this is how we feel but I don't get the little gifts through the year...so today I am feeling gyped!!

Don't know yet...probably a card! I don't really like to do the whole Valentine's day thing. I got him a cheesy Simpsons valentine with a $25 itunes card. Got the kids gift bags with candy and gum!

Lots of chocolate. It makes me happy. Fresh chocolate covered strawberries, Dove dark, and Lindt Extra Fine dark. And a card.

I got a box of candy and a card. We had agreed not to get anything for each other, we went to WDW 2/1-2/6 to celebrate our 10th anniversary, and I got a new diamond wedding band while we were there.

We gotta WINNER here:cool1: Diamond wedding band!! That's what I want for our 15 year anniversary - next May. Congrats!!

I know it's early but DH just told me he got me NOTHING for Valentine's Day. Not even a card- or an email card!! You know why??:confused3

Because it snowed today!! I got him and the kids their gifts two days ago because I knew it was going to snow. He could have done the same.

He really is a great DH so I'm just floored by this. It's the first time in 20 years together that I got nothing on VD.
:

OK, reading it quick and read "did not get VD" so I guess that would be considered a GOOD thing!!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

DH & I agree to not get each other anything but we gave DS5 chocolates and a DS game and DD4 got flowers.

DS and I had snow days today so when I woke up DH had already left for work, but had left a bouquet of flowers on the dining room table with a nice card. He's so cute.

I got him a musical card that had the song "You're my first, my last, my everything...." which he LOVED and a hershey's candy bar that I had originally bought to give to the girl at work.;)

2 dozen pink roses, and a romantic getaway weekend starting tomorrow night. We had dinner plans tonight but cancelled due to the icy weather....Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!
DH added some more suprises when he got home....he never did cancel dinner at favorite restuarant which I was so happy about.....he arrived home with 2 dozen of the most beautiful red roses and a card, a box of homemade dark chocolate shaped into hearts and filled with rasberry.
Very very sweet!

i got a lot, actually. i wasn't expecting as much as i got. i got a pink sapphire heart necklace and earrings. i got a box of chocolates, a rose, a chocolate lollipop, and a shirt from Victoria's Secret that i've wanted forever lol.

I laughed out loud when I read this.......OMG.....thanks for the laugh!

(and if anyone in the house heard me laughing...in here all by myself....how am I going to explain THAT?!?!)

i do that all the time. DH2B just assumes i'm crazy now.
