Well, since I have to eat in the castle, I am trying CRT for dinner this August. I am a little nervous since I've heard some poor reviews, but I'm going in with an open mind.

I'd like to hear from anyone who has been there with the new menu - what you ordered and how you liked it (or didn't). I appreciate the help deciding what to order.

Here's the menu (for adults)

Appetizers/Starter

BLT Salad - a mixture of Frisee, Iceberg lettuce, & baby spinach with Applewood bacon, tomato, eggs, red onion and roasted shallot vinaigrette
OR Vegetable Spring Roll with soy bean and Bok Choy salad and ginger-garlic sauce
OR Corn and Crab Soup with sour cream & chives.

Entree/Main Course

Roasted Prime Rib of Beef with Gratin potatoes & a Cabernet sauce
OR Spice Rubbed Roast Chicken with smoked Corn Polenta, Natural broth & Swiss chard
OR Grilled Pork Tenderloin with Orzo Cheese Casserole, Port Wine reduction & Cremini Mushrooms
OR Braised Lamb Shank with Root Vegetable Mash served with Cabernet sauce
OR Pan Seared Salmon with Blue Crab Rock Shrimp Risotto and grilled asparagus
OR Cheese Tortellini with Julienne vegetables, fresh Romano & garlic Cannellini Bean sauce.

Dessert

Warm Blueberry Buckle with Fresh Lemon ice cream
OR Chocolate Mousse Cake with chocolate and raspberry drizzle
OR Raspberry Sorbet.

Thanks again!

We ate there for lunch this past Sept...I had the pork tenderloin, which was very good, DS, 8, had the hot dog in pretzel roll which he emjoyed, and my DD, this was her 13th B-day, had the pasta. I cannot remember what my husband ate...he was too full of himself because our server Gustavo kept calling him "The King", as in , "Would the King like another coke?" Seriously, he was INTO it!
The blueberry buckle was great and my son had the little sundae with the chocolate crown. We had a nice time. The table was decorated with streamers and confetti and we had a table right by a window with a grade-A view of the park. Wendy from Peter Pan was the best Princess...she spent a ton of time chatting at the table because my son said he'd waved to her on the Peter Pan ride. She was adorable. I dreamed of eating in the castle my whole life...aren't I pathetic? It was good. The little appetizer plate was good, too. It is not a "meat and potato" place, however...they are aiming for a higher-end menu, so it is plated nice and there are updated ingredients. I am not sure it is for everyone's taste, but for a special meal or a family that likes different things, you will like it. Not unlike any menu you'd find at places near larger cities, but not coffee shop fare.

For all the bad reviews, we really enjoyed it, but this was our first trip to Disney as a family and people seem to wax poetic on "how it used to be". I have nothing to compare it to, but it was iconic to be in the castle, with a view of the park. It wouldn't have mattered if it was tater tots and a Pedro-baked cake, you know???

My husband had the pork and he said it was great. My son had the beef and I had a taste... It was "melt-in-your-mouth" great. My daughter and I had the chicken and they were also very good. My sister had the pasta dish and that also was good. The food was all good and the desserts were also good. We're going back on our next trip...

I agree... It's all about the MAGIC of dining in the castle with that great view of the park.

I LOVE the new CRT. For appetizer, DH and I both got the BLT salad and it was delicious. I had the cheese tortellini and it was yummy. DH got the pork tenderloin. I wouldn't have liked it too much because it had gravy and I'm not big on gravy. But DH likes gravy and so he really enjoyed it. For dessert DH got the chocolate cake and liked it and I got the blueberry buckle crumb cake which was to die for. :thumbsup2 This was my favorite meal at WDW (and we ate dinner there before the changes too...this was better IMO). I convinced DH to add a day to our trip in Oct. just so that I could try to add CRT again.

I ate at CRT lunch this past april and we LOVED the food. Pork tenderloin and Major DOmos pie were delicious :goodvibes Definitly get the blueberry bucke-it is fabolous and nothing like a muffin at all. Differnt texture, it melts in your mouth... :teeth:

As long as Tina didnt try to lick your plate and Uncle Rico didnt chuck hid prime rib at you, eh? :happytv: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:

I had the chicken and dh got the prime rib...it was alright but it was totally for the litho, show, pix and view of Wishes... we almost cancelled b/c the reviews on here...but glad we didn't. It was a great time.

We had a poor experience at CRT a few weeks ago. We were seated back in a corner behind a pole. so no view of the restaurant or the show that the godmother puts on. The soup was very good. The prime rib was tough, and the blueberry buckle was so hard that it was tough to cut with a steak knife. Not to mention, the extremely rude waitress that we had, or the billing mistake that took a long time to clear up. Definitely not worth 2 TS for us. With so many good food choices, I really cannot recommend CRT. It really put a damper on my DH's birthday. :confused3

The menus I have read for CRT only list a potato dish with the prime rib. Is another side, like a veggie dish, also served?
