What did you do for your 21st?

I think I went to a comedy club with some friends.

18 is the big one for us, and for that I went to the bar with my dad and my uncle since none of my friends were 18 yet lol

I went out to dinner with my parents and sister (I know, not very exciting lol). My 21st birthday wasn't a big deal to me as I had drank alcohol plenty of times beforehand during trips to Europe.

I spent the day on the beach and went to the drive in movies at night. I was on a 30 day leave just a couple of days away from heading off to Vietnam. I wasn't in the happiest of moods.

Nothing really all that special. However, I bought an alcoholic beverage for the first time. A bottle of 1985 Cristal, and I still have it. I don't have a clue whether or not it still has any carbonation.

Spent mine going to college bars.

I asked my daughter, whose 21st birthday is next month, what she’d like to do for hers, and she said she’d love to be at the Magic Kingdom and have dinner at CRT, which we’ve never done. I was lucky enough to get the dinner reservation, so that’s what we’re doing! Before that, we’ll stop by our favorite resort, WL, and get her first “official” drink at Territory Lounge. Much better 21st birthday plans than I had, and lucky me that this is what she picked. Can’t wait!

Can't remember doing anything special, or not special. Can't really recall any birthdays. Usually just had cake, maybe nicer dinner than usual

I worked at a very popular bar & restaurant and since they knew my age I couldn’t use my fake ID (yeah, it was easy way back when to get one) to drink there. It was a Saturday night and busy, but I got off early so I could turn 21 at the bar at midnight!

The amount of drinks and shots I received would have killed me if I did them all. 😂 I had to give away to friends. That was a great night!! Never forget it. Now the next night … that one was bar hopping and my memory is foggy. Ahh … to be young again.

I can’t imagine how you felt 😞
Thank you for your service 🙏

I was married at the time and couldn't drink due to medical reasons. My husband at the time took me to the Four Seasons for dinner. It was a nice dinner, but we both admitted that we were rather hungry for something a bit more typical for us after...so a few hours later, we bought pizza and watched a movie at home.

I doubt it was anything special, as I’d been married 3 years, with a son and another baby on the way. Plus Michigan’s drinking age back then was 18 so I had already been there done that😁

I don't recall it being a big deal, I don't think I did anything. It was 44 years ago! My parents never made a big deal about alcohol. I was allowed to have a glass of wine with Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner as a kid. Maybe that is why I never had a desire to drink before I was 21.

I was pregnant with my oldest. All of my friends were unmarried and no kids, they invited me out to the bar, because that's exactly what a pregnant 21 year old wants to do... 🤣
