What did you buy with your 50% off Borders coupon?

I got the entire paperback box set of Harry Potter books. My DD8 wanted them for Christmas, and it was only $46 with tax after the 50% off. :thumbsup2

Since I am done Christmas shopping, I decided to treat us to something we love to watch. I bought the Charlie Brown 3 holiday Blu Ray/DVD combo set. Now I can watch Great Pumpkin, Thanksgiving, & the Christmas special any time I want. There were also a bunch of bonus episodes, but really I was most interested in the originals. It was a good deal, with the coupon it was only $21.

I walked back to the Lego section, ours was wiped out.

A Clive Cussler book for my dad for Christmas! The day before I used the "free" $10 border bucks they gave and a 33% coupon I received in an email :)

I didn't get the coupon :confused3. Was it mailed or emailed? I'm bummed because there was a gift for dd there that I wanted to get her for Christmas...didn't know I could get it for 50% off!

I got it via e-mail about 11:15pm Tuesday night. I wasn't planning on shopping today, but did make time to run out and use the 50% off coupon. :thumbsup2

We got the 2nd book in the Benedict Society series (DD11 is reading these again) and she used the 2nd one (we have 2 accounts) for one of those crafts sets. Saved $3.50 Painting on flat glass circles. It was $7.99 so only $4 after coupon. It's actually a pretty nice set.

I wanted to get the first season of the Mary Tyler Moore show on DVD which was on sale for $9.99 (from $29.99). The clerk wouldn't let me use it. he said it would be 1/2 off $30. I was going to get it for my DM's stocking stuffer. Now that we are all adults we do stuffers for each of us. Limit is $5 though. Make it pretty fun to find things.

We didn't save a bunch but DD had a GC from her birthday she's been wanting to use. I wish Barnes and Noble would have more coupons. she has about $100 in GC for that store but I really hate to have her pay full retail for books. I'm now telling her relatives that if they want to get her a book GC to get Borders if possible. Besides, I worry that B&N may not be around much longer.

I swung by in the morning and grabbed an American Girl pet set (the yellow lab) for $12.50. DD's been asking to buy one with her allowance forever, but I told her to wait for a coupon. When I got home she'd convinced DH to sign up for his own account and they'd ran out and picked out the kitten. :lmao:

We let our Barnes & Noble membership expire after we bought Kindles, and only shopped there for DD's books. Between Amazon's 4-for-3 promotion on books and Border's coupons, we now ask for those gift cards for DD instead of Barnes & Noble. Also, since those 33% or 40% coupons can be used on non-book items like AG stuff, it's just more budget friendly.

I got a coupon as part of my black Friday inserts from the Washington post that is good for 50% off of one item Friday through Sunday.
