What did you bake today ? OK if not from scratch

Not sure if they counts as baking, but my wife is trying out her new Mickey waffle iron this morning. When she retired over 2 years ago, they gave her a Disney gift card. She finally used it, or at least part of it. I haven't been on the website but she has been trying to find anything she wanted for 2 years ago, or something for our Granddaughters.

I did add in brownies with lots of add ins

Duncan Hines Fudge Brownie Mix
I used 3 eggs for the cake batter recipe on the box
Now my add ins:
extra 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda so I did not weigh down the recipe
Then I chopped up in my Nija......
1/2 cup nuts - cashews, almonds and pecans
3/4 cup unsweetened coconut flakes

Mix it all together - then added 1/2 up semi-sweet chocolate chips

The batter was a bit on the thick side (I guess because of all the nuts and coconut) , so I
added 2 ounces of orange juice

They came out so delicious :)

What did you bake ?
Want to share your recipe or add ins to a cake box ideas ?
Love how creative you are!!!

Dutch baby. First time making one, tastes kind of like a cross between a Yorkshire pudding, pancake and French toast. Ate with preserves and a little whipped cream. Good and easy to make

Good job! Looks exactly like the ones we eat at our Pancake House often. I have tried making it but mine always tasted ‘eggier’ than the restaurants’ did. I wasn’t crazy about the eggier flavor. I wonder if they use powdered eggs.

Never saw that in my life. Do you just unroll and bake til browned and cut into squares?
Yep. It was designed to be a pizza crust, I think, and we've definitely used it as that too. But I've also cut it into strips and twisted them them before baking to make breadsticks, or made "homemade hot pockets" with it. It's very versatile. :teeth:

It's hit or miss in the grocery stores here, but when they have it, it's right next to the other canned biscuits, cinnamon rolls, etc.

I'm making what my grandmother called Poor Man's Dish. Her large family ate it during the Depression. You layer tomato sauce (watered down a bit), sliced potatoes, sliced onions, a slice or two of bacon, and then cover it with slices of American cheese. Salt and pepper each layer until you reach the top of the baking dish. Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour at 350, then uncover and bake for another hour.

It was a way to eat lots of potatoes to fill you up with a little flavor. I think my family is the only one that makes this dish. At least I think so...there are probably many variants of it out there.
