Bran muffins... okay chocolate chip bran muffins. DS eats two for breakfast on school days and now that he's back at school (half at home and half in class), he needs sustenance. BTW - that's two of the regular cupcake pan size, not the giant ones and they are home made.
Now, can anyone tell me what to do with a pile of bread crumbs that doesn't involve deep frying?
For my dinner tonight, I'm making a (dairy-free/tree-nut free) peach raspberry crisp with canned raspberry pie filling (50% off at target), 4-5 fresh peaches, and a boxed crisp topping with my plant butter...I don't add any extra sugar on top of the pie filling, so it desweetens enough to be a perfect sweet/sour side dish for roast turkey tenderloin (vs doing a cranberry sauce - this is a change up b/c peaches are cheap, and the pie filling was, too)...
I made moist banana blueberry muffins and it turns out that my husband dislikes when muffins are moist. (We're not the type to typically have muffins, this is something we just started a few months ago so it hasn't ever come up before).

Lol, I was surprised. I've been making muffins (boxed) weekly, and this was one of the few I made from scratch. He prefers them to be on the drier side.
I'm making a lemon tart from a recipe by Dorie Greenspan for my birthday dinner. Also making but not baking, sashimi flown in from Honolulu Fish Company (fancy!) and shrimp and vegetable tempura.
Does anyone have a no fail recipe for biscuits? I’ve got some buttermilk that I’d like to use. I’ve tried three different recipes and the biscuits always seem to turn out flat and tough. I’m making sure that I use fresh ingredients and don’t overwork the dough. I like light flaky biscuits, like the ones at Bojangles. TIA!
Sorry don’t have a recipe, but I do suggest a brand new box of baking soda or baking powder makes a difference . I also freeze my unsalted butter and shave it off into a dough recipe
Pumpkin recipes anyone.? I tried one similar to the Pb oat bars mentioned on sept 7 th, but use a can of pumpkin instead of peanut butter. I heard pumpkin maybe hard to get this fall with aluminum can shortage.so I’m starting to buy now.
