The breakfast looked very good atWPE and Goofy's is just YUMMY!!!
Hello, I stumbled upon your TR while searching the dining reviews. I was going to read just the links, but the Camaro drew me in!
I can't imagine a whole month in WDW, how great is that!? I'm trying to get caught up, but wanted to stop in & say hello!![]()
Loving all your food choices!
The breakfast looked very good atWPE and Goofy's is just YUMMY!!!
Is it wrong I want to dive head first into the make your own treats bar![]()
That sounds like a lot of allergies! What CAN you eat?
I have a friend at school who is very limited in what she can eat, due to alleriegs too!![]()
Fortunately, not all are allergies - rather sensitivities. I just east plainer food and plenty of it!!!
Wow look at all the goodies! Making my head spin just looking!!I always forget about the Make Your Own Treat - must do this next visit for sure!
Thanks, Karin! Love your updates!!![]()
Oh my! That coffee trio dessert looks to die for!!
Artist Point is a place we never tried. I was going back and forth with this one last time. I have to try to make it on our next Disney venture. The food looks so yummy, especially the desserts.
We are really looking forward to AP on our next trip as we are staying at the Lodge
I already know I want to order the salmon, I was just a bit worried that the sauce that it's served with may be a little too rich. What did you think?
The Mickey Sundae was really nice. Just the right amount for that afternoon - and Joe had his Hot Fudge Sundae which he LOVED!!!
We really enjoyed our dinner at Jiko! What went wrong for you? Was it the food or the service?
Day 23, September 5
Dinner at Artist Point
In the evening we went to Artists Point for dinner. It was another first for us and we had changed the ADR again and again and finally here we were.
We checked in, were handed a buzzer and walked around the lobby of the Wilderness Lodge. About 20 minutes after we had checked in, the buzzer went off and we walked back. We were led into the dining room and seated at a two top at the window overlooking the hallway.
Our server was over within a few minutes to introduce herself and to take our drinks order. Throughout the meal she was very nice and friendly, but we didn't see her all too much. It looked like she had too many tables to look after and got distracted.

In addition to our Diet Cokes we both ordered an extra drink. I ordered the Raspberry Rapids, Frozen Coconut Cream and Pineapple Juice with Bacardi Silver and Chambord. Thick creamy and sweet. Couldn't ask for more!

No, this is not a cocktail, this is the Widmer Hefeweizen. It looks totally different to what a Hefeweizen (beer) looks here. It was fun. I can't remember any complaints, so Tom must have liked it!

We also got some warm bread and butter with salt.

For my starter I ordered the Heirloom Tomato Salad with Buffalo Mozzarella Cheese, Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Micro Basil. I really enjoyed this. The tomatoes were ripe and flavourful and went so well with the creamy mozzarella. The olive oil gave some extra flavour. I could have done without the micro basil as I didn't find much flavour in it. But all in all a perfect starter!

Tom ordered the Pulled Hoisin Short Ribs with Asian Slaw. As you can see, it was plated on these little spoons and therefore "bitesize". I tried a little bit off of one of the spoons and there was a flavour burst! The short ribs were melt in your mouth and the sauce was really nice and spicy, while the slaw added crunch and sweetness. Very good!

Here we are enjoying our starters.

I tried their signature dish, the Cedar Plank Roasted Wild King Salmon - with spring vegetables, Citrus-Miso Buerre Blanc, and parsley oil. First of all - this was a HUGE piece of fish. It was perfectly pink inside and was presented on a huge cedar plank and plated tableside! It was wonderful, but just too much to finish.

Tom had the Grilled Beef Tenderloin with Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Blue Lake Green Beans and Espresso Reduction. The tenderloin was very tender, but the Garlic Mashed Potatoes were heavenly. Green Beans were just that, green beans and the espresso reduction was strong and added a nice flavour to the meat.
We were both stuffed and thought about skipping dessert, but I blame it on the server, she made it sound real good and we decided to find some room for dessert!

So I gave in and tried the Valrhona Chocolate Terrine with Amarena Cherries
and Salted Hazelnut Brittle. Can you say heaven! This was sooooo good, thick slowly melting in your mouth chocolate, with the sweet cherries and the brittle ..........The server had just earned herself an extra tip!

Tom actually just wanted some coffee, but the server talked him into trying this dessert coffee trio. A dense brownie like chocolate cake with some coffee icing. Coffee mousse with a cream topping and coffee ice-cream. All three were too die for, but it was definitely too much to finish.
We made our way over to the Magic Kingdom to meet Mary Ellen and Joe, but it was really hard, because we were so full. I guess we did a few rounds on the people mover to digest and recover from dinner!
We had Free Disney Dining Plan which we had upgraded to the DxDDP. We booked through the British Disney Travel company and the cost for nine nights and 2 people was ....... 270 British Pounds = 420 $
So, we paid 420$ (difference between DDP and DxDDP) for 9 days of DxDDP!
How much did we actually cost Disney?
54 dining credits
36 snack credits
Artist Point ...... 141,70 (4 DC ......... 32 DC remain)
2 Refillable Mugs ...... 29,80
Goofy's drinks ...... 10,00 (4 snack credits ......... 26 snack credits remain)
Cost altogether ..... 856,90 $
420$ - 856,90 $ = 436,90 $
Next up - Lunch at Wolfgang Puck's Cafe
Karin, I am so happy you went to Artist Point! It is our favorite go to restaurant and convenient since we are DVC members of VWL. The Raspberry Rapids is my drink of choice!I usually get the Smoked Portobello soup, a salad and a side of truffle fries (they are incredibly good french fries fried in truffle oil and served with an aoli). They also do fantastic wine pairings.

Well without giving too much away (as we have yet to come to that dinner in my TR) the food and the server was what made the meal a bit poo
Loving your Artiste Point review, has defo made me happy about our decision to try this restaurant in September. That beef tenderloin looks delicious and that coffee dessert trio![]()
I really want to go to Artist Point! Those pulled hoisin short ribs look awesome!![]()
Well, I finally got caught up, was 62 pages when I started took me tow or so days! All of that food looked so good, but most of it I would not be allowed to eat. I, too have medical reasons, so can't have any garlic or heavy seasoning. The worst thing is no chocolate! That was one of my favorite foods. I do cheat when I go to WDW, can't go there & not enjoy all that good stuff.
Your cruise pictures really got me wanting to go cruising again. The adult beach was killer!
Now to get caught up on your trip report.
Your review and pics have us seriously considering switching our signature meal to this one (dined twice before at AP). The problem is that the coffee trio, the hoisin rib appy and the meat with espresso reduction are no longer listed on the official menu posted on the Walt Disney World website...
I have posted a question about this over on the regular restaurant board, to find out if any recent diners have seen those items.
I have LOVED your reports!
Another delicious review! Artist Point is one of the few signatures I have not considered, as we're not huge salmon fans, but everything you had looked delicious. And Tom's appetizer looked really neat!
I missed the AP review !!! Your appetizer looked delish, Tom's Steak awesome and your dessrt !!There I have my meal picked out !!![]()
