I am trying to fill out our Marriage license application and I have no idea what to put in for residency!

We live in Fishers IN and have live here for 7 months. We are both from MA and our licenses are still our home town in MA. We are moving out of IN to TX within the next few months.

Do they use your license and stuff to double check on the application to determine your residency? Should I put down the addresses on our license right now?

We won't have different licenses until after the wedding......

Thanks for the help... I have no idea what to do...

Probably where you have been for the past 7 months, you may want to ask if they want where you will be residing on the day of your wedding? Congrats either way!

I read more carefully the second time- it is probably best to check with them, I would guess that they would want a utility bill or two to prove you have been residing where you say you have and also bring your license from MA they may want a copy. I moved so much during my life that I never have the correct addy on my Lic (I don't now!) so I usually use a utility bill and DD's school accepted that.

at the time we applied for our marriage license, i said that i was a resident of new york, even though i had lived in maryland for 6 months because iu was still registered to vote in NY, and that's where my driver's license was from. i would use wherever your driver's license is from.

Here's a link to a page with marriage license info about Indiana. There is a different price depending on whether or not you are state residents, so if you are actually Indiana residents, you probably don't want to use your MA licenses. The people who issue the license would be the best source of info.
You didn't say what state/county you were getting married in, but the page link allows you to get info for all the states.

I would probably check the motor vehicle laws before I would start handing them my MA license. Most likely you are in violation of the DMV regulations/laws. Most states require that you get a license within x days of moving to the state. I would think the limit is less than 7 months.

Also, some states have residency requirments that say you have to reside in state for x period of time to get married.

Thanks for the info.

We should have gotten our licenses awhile ago, I admit that. However, we aren't getting married in Indiana we are getting married on St. Thomas so they don't really care where we live, I just would think it would be much easier to keep our residence as far as they are concerned in MA.

My parents still live at my address so all my "state" info gets forwarded to me from them....
