What design program should I buy?

Hi everyone! I have recently discovered this forum and I am loving the wonderful, creative work that is being done here!! And finding this forum got me thinking

I am a SAHM who loves to do projects so why not give DISigning a try. I do not have a design program though and was wondering what y'all might recommend. I do not want to spend a fortune on a program but I would like something that I could use to make Tshirt designs, scapbooking elements, FE gifts, and even Disney tattoo designs if possible. I will be a complete novice in this adventure so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

I read one of the sticky threads and it appears that a lot of people use PSE. I will give it a day or two for responses and if there are none then I will opt to try that program.

I cannot wait to give it a try! (As my DH cringes at me finding another way to feed my Disney obsession )

Oh yes he has a good reason to cringe as this DISigning stuff can be a bit addictive.

I have been DISigning sine 2008....PSE all the way for me!! There are tons of free things online to supplement the program (which is already robust) and tutorials everywhere!

There are some new people that have started a sticky about learning it together, I believe!!

I am one of the few that use Photo Impact, I don't think it is as good as PSE. I have PSE, but haven't taken the time to learn it. However, everyone whol uses PSE LOVES it.

Thanks everyone for all of your input!!

I have downloaded the free trial of PSE and I am hoping I can learn the program before the 30 days is up. If I can figure it out I will purchase it before the end of the trial.

Well off to the sticky you suggested.....I'm sure I will be there for hours!

I love PSE!! I am still learning it. I have had the program since Christmas. If you need any help or suggestions, just ask!! I am sure there is some one here who can help. I am having a blast making disigns. Still a little (ok a lot) timid about my designs so haven't jumped head first into disigning!! Good Luck with your new Disney obsession!!

Yes go to the sticky. Rustman (marion) gave a great webforum for help and tips and such, we are all learning a lot from it!

I have had PSE for a few months now, and I LOVE it, so user friendly and easy to get around. I also like the fact it is for both Mac and PC. Shop around and look at pricing. Some ladies found it cheaper on amazon.

I have spent the last couple of hours (yes, it took me that long) trying to figure out the program. I have made some headway. I did manage to create the tattoo I am wanting to get done. If I could figure out how to post the picture here I would let you all see but, alas, I haven't figured that out yet!

Tomorrow I will venture into a few other project ideas and see how that goes!
