We all now that the "usual" things like housework and cooking get in the way :cool1: but what "other stuff" in your life takes you away from your scrapbooking for significant chunks of time.

For instance, I haven't TOUCHED my books since about the 3rd week in August. Why? Serious cleaning out at my dad's, then my house to absorb what I brought home from there, which led to setting up a massive garage (tag) sale which I'll hold this Fri & Sat, and when that is over I have to clear off the work table to do 2 flower girl dresses for a wedding in Oct. I'm hoping we have a pretty easy theater season (that is more sewing and time away that derails me) because DS is graduating in the spring and I'd really like at least his high school stuff to be up to date!

Next?

Um, this board? :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Actually I have done more scrapping this month then I have in a long time! Of course, now that I have just purchased a bunch of new stuff :rolleyes1 I guess we will see if I am derailed once again! :rotfl:
I really need to clean my house today. I was supposed to work at noon, but my boss called and said I could have the day off (I think I am safe since Piratesmate is not around today! :teeth: ), so I think I will tackle the laundry and some housework. It is so hard getting motivated now that the kids are in school LOL

I find that if I don't schedule scrapbooking time, I don't do it. I have to make a schedule in my head of all the things I want and need to do for the week, and if I don't include "me" time, it's easy to forget. I also try to schedule work out time, so I don't forget/put off that as well.

We are so busy with all our responsiblities, sometimes you have to plan a date with your scrapbook!

Another vote for this board and a scrapbooking board :) Also I have a 4 and 6 yr old so that greatly limits the time I can scrap :)

FOOTBALL SEASON!

Not that I'm a football player, mind you. But I am starting my fifth year as a marching band mom. Between purchasing for and stocking and running a concession stand every week, I am busy mending and altering band uniforms and sewing flags and costumes for color guard.

Once the season ends, I have to finish our 2004 disney trip and then I have our 2005 New Orleans vacation and my dd's 18th birthday to scrap. I'm so looking forward to getting back to it!

my worst is actually finishing a project! :confused3 I SB for others, so when I finish a project, I frequently have to take a mental break before shifting gears to the next project (be it mine or someone else's). I'm in that mode right now, trying to get a few small projects done, but my inspiration level is pretty darned low!

We are finishing our basement, so I am going to have my own scrapbook room. I don't want to scrapbook anything until it's finished, so I am sure I have stuff to do in it. :cheer2:

LIFE gets in the way of so many things :confused3

How much scrapping I would get done, if I didn't have other things to do. When I become rich and well, rich, I will have time to do the things I love, scrap and chat at the DIS boards :Pinkbounc

Having a dedicated scrapbook room lets me scrapbook whenever I have a spare five minutes or so. The ironing board is in there too, so whenever I need to iron clothes for work, while the iron is heating up I can mount of few pictures or prepare a layout, then leave the project for the next spare moments of time I have.

Oh man and I didn't even mention football season - treasurer of booster club and team photog, so every Thursday & Friday are booked solid and then the new photos have to be put into the book for sales, etc. At least those just slip into sleeves. Wouldn't it be nice if we were all rich and didn't have to work? Now that would help a great deal!

THE PTA!!!!!!

Plus football season. Oh how I wish I could bring my table to practice. My son's practice is two hours long such a wasted time.

Plus fall shows are starting soon and nothing can interfere with LOST and Survivour. :teeth:

I've never been a Survivor fan, and since it is on THursday night I've been on the field when it starts. BUT this season a college classmate (were in a couple of study groups together) is one of the people who at least started. He was sworn to secrecy and they all came home when the challenge was over ...but it means I'm going to at least have to follow it.

One more derailment!

School and homework and the whole chulata that comes with it. My goal is to do a layout a week. I am trying to finish my layouts for 8th grade. I am gonna start working on my dogs album and start a disney album. Right now, I am not scrapping in any order. I am scrapping pictures and events that I want to scrap. :P I'm not sure if that is good or not but right now I don't feel like going in order.

I third the nomination of "this board"!! If I am home for a day, I usually try to fly through some basic housework to make time for scrapping, but something usually comes up, like the cat vomiting on the bed, necessitating stripping it down to the bare mattress and washing everything!! And then we have two children involved in sports that literally have us at a practice 6 days a week (including game days).

I did find a way to take some scrapping to yesterday's soccer practice though! Wish I could do that more often. How silly do you suppose I looked sitting there with my tv table and folding chair?? Oh well, at least it was productive. I just need to figure out how to get some scrapping done in the bleachers at the pool!................P

Not weird at all! I can usually be found with photos of some sort at least being sorted! While right now at the start of the year we are crazed on campus, there are times when we endure long stretches without much to do between classes. At those times my power layout does come in really handy. That little box, a couple of basic cropping tools, and my pics and I'm good to go!

Yup, this board and many other scrapbooking related boards. :teeth:

Plus, my kids, home improvement projects, kids' activities and my activities (like Girl Scouts, working out, yardwork, etc.), and ebaying. Funny how selling scrapbooking stuff on ebay prevents me from scrapbooking for myself. lol :)

Yea, and so many of these activities we're talking about leave us with MORE photos to scrap. I diligently limit my board time to "free" time on campus. But the whole GIrl Scout thing I can relate to! ALthough my troop has gotten into a bit of scrapping themselves so I do get one evening a month that we scrap together!
