What decade were you meant for?

There are some images from the '50s and '60s that would have you thinking everything was just "peachy keen" and maybe a little bland back then. But, just as in any era, there was always some cool stuff going on in the background. Beat poetry, rock music, and the word "cool" itself came into being during the '50s and '60s, and we bet you would have gotten a kick out of being there when it all began.

It's a kid's quiz, but what the heck.

The '30s and '40s

Well, technically not many people would want to live in the U.S. during the 1930s, what with the Great Depression and all, and World War II in the '40s was no picnic. But there were some qualities to those decades we think you'd kind of appreciate. Social honor was strong, as the whole country banded together to try to solve some big problems. Even if you would be bugged by not being able to have lots of new clothes, you'd probably stay calm if you knew it was for a good reason.

30s and 40s here too.. The test said 57% of people tested rated this way

The Roaring '20s

In a way, the 1920s in the United States was kind of like a giant party. If you woke up in the '20s one day, you'd be one lucky duck. Some of the more important modern conveniences were in place (telephones, lightbulbs), to keep you sane. But you could still enjoy the way things looked and felt before everything around you was mass-produced. And we think you'd have had a good time with the spirit of the age, where social rules were being questioned all the time. Sure, the Charleston was a little dorky, but we bet you'd teach 'em some new moves… and they'd love it.

:p

I got roaring 20s....but my preference would have been 50s and 60s.

30's and 40's here. Perhaps that is because I was raised by parents from those decades!

This sort of surprised me, considering how attached to my computer and dishwasher I have become:

Or, maybe we're totally off base. If you think so, try taking the quiz again.

48% of the people who took this quiz got the same evaluation.

I think the questions they used do a better job of rating you on how positive you are and how you react to inconveniences, rather than what decade would fit you.

I agree more with the quiz that put me in the '90's.

Hey, how come mine said 54% of people got this result, and someone else's said that 48% of people got the 30's & 40's? Either no one is getting the other results, or the percentages are changing really rapidly (must be a new quiz).

Probably because when I took the test fewer people had taken it. The percentages have changed now :)

I got the 60's/70's. No suprise since I was a child in the 70's LOL

I got 60's and 70's. I was born in 64, so I guess that would be accurate.

In reality, though, I would have loved to have lived in the 40's. I love the style of clothing and I love swing dancing. :sunny:

The quiz told me the 30 and the 40's, but I think I would have enjoy the fifies if I had been a little bit older than 5 and 6.

I was the 30s or 40s too....Interestingly, my dad was born in 1935 while my mom was born in 1941 (they were old parents ;) ) so I was probably raised with those values.
