hands down 90's
The birth of "alternative/grunge"...Green Day, 311, No Doubt, Weezer, Dishwalla, Refreshments, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Oasis....

bring them back...bring it all back!

For me it's the 60's. Love that Motown sound! :dancer: And hey, this guy can't be dancing to any Motown tune! :scared1:

60s, 80s, & 90s. I love motown, alternative and GOOD pop-rock...

Here's my take FWIW

'50's -innocent and joyous (2nd place in my book)
'60's -pop music was finding its identity
'70's -This is the ultimate decade for music, for reasons too numerous to enumnerate :teeth:
'80's -overall... too silly (but still good enough to rate 3rd in this informal poll IMO)
'90's -music became way to morose and self-important
'00's -hip hop? errrrr no thanx (music is so forced now)

The best decade for music is the one that coincides with your teen/early adult years. That's when popular music becomes an integral part of your life.

So, for me, it would have to be the mid 60s/early 70s.

Send me back to the days of Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby! :)

I wasn't even alive then, but I adore this kind of music.

I Said HIP HOP HIPPY HOP to the HIP HIP HOP and you DON"T STOP ROCKEN

What more do you need then that .My Dad ran a rollerskating rink from the late 70's until the mid 80's .
You Know being a teen I was the Man

I'd have to go with 1975-1985

AGREED!!! I am a Fleetwood Mac Junkie!!! I am proud that I am a Rumours baby (born in 1976) I also love Rush!! (except Tom Sawyer - too mainstream)

Music today ALL sounds exactly alike. Very redundant to listen to a "current" music station.

I love old radio music, like Frank Sinatra and Billie Holiday. It's by far my favorite music.

80s - old school rap. The start of U2, Prince, Metallica and REM. New Wave. The original Live Aid. Also the start of dark and gloomy groups like the Smiths and the Cure. Metal in its prime.

90s in second for me, because I like grunge (Alice in Chains, Meatpuppets, Pearl Jam).

The late 60's, early 70's, late 90's and today.

Absolutely the 80's! Sooo many good bands. (Too few in the 60's and 90's.) Anybody remember 'Midnight Oil'?
