Hi! Going next week (Feb 18-22) with a 3 day park hopper. I want to rope drop MK either Tuesday Feb 20 or Wed. Feb 21(extended evening hours this day). I know it will be a busy week but was wondering if anyone had thoughts on which would be a better day to choose. Thinking we would stay until 2ish and then head to AK for the rest of day. Any help, suggestions or guidance would be appreciated! Thank you so much :)

Those two days will be six of one, 1/2 dozen of another IMO. Especially since, if you do Wednesday, you would be leaving MK before EEH crowds arrived. I guess Wednesday might be a LITTLE less crowded as some schools only have Monday and Tuesday off, but I doubt there will be much of a difference. ETA: AK does close at 8 on Tuesday but 7 on Wednesday. Not sure if that extra hour matters to you or not.

It's going to be awful regardless. Presidents Day week is one of the busiest of the year now due to more and more school districts stretching it into midwinter breaks. This is like picking between mono and Monty's revenge tbqh. Just go in with a plan. EEH has zero impact on daytime crowds, it's not at all like evening extra magic hours in the before times if that's your concern. Very few guests have access to this benefit compared to that one, so you'll be fine.

AK in the afternoon is a good shout because most people rope drop it and then leave before noon bc they think it's just about the rides (it's not), just be aware that a lot of things there close before the rest of the park, like the animal trails, Rafiki's, and the last safari of the day is also before park close. You'll also want to keep an eye on times for the shows in case you want to see any of them.

I'm also inclined to say there probably won't be all that much difference between the two days, except if the park closes at 7pm one day and 8pm the next, I'd choose the 8pm closing. (though that assumes you want to stay that late.)

If you aren't planning to buy G+, then later in the day AK is likely to be less busy. If you are planning to buy the multi-park G+, with the idea of booking morning attractions in MK then swapping to AK about the time you hop, the AK options might be somewhat limited. As another poster noted, a number of attractions close early.

Having visited WDW over holiday weeks many times over, I find them to be quite fun. We like the extra park hours. For us, if we planned to buy multi-park G+ that day, we'd tend to start at AK then hop to MK to max the number of G+ passes.

You also have the option of saving money by buying the AK-only version of G+ and book AK attractions starting in the morning. If you do that, then it will matter even less which day you hop.
