On our next trip we are flexible and wondering if there's a best day to fly to make it cheaper?

Does it depent on airline?

Thanks!

Often airfares are less on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but not always. If one could predict airfare, you'd be better off buying a lottery ticket and then not have to worry about airfare!

Most airlines and airfare search engines give you an option for looking at fares a few days either side of your possible flight day. Check out a few search engines link www.orbitz.com or www.kayak.com.

If you can fly out of PHL, then check out www.southwest.com. One nice thing about Southwest is if fares come down you can re-book and take the difference as a credit to be used within 1 year of the time of your initial purchase. Also, Southwest doesn't hit you with checked baggage fees which can add a lot to your airfare.

An example:

Our JetBlue flights. We booked last Friday. Same fare price yesterday as we paid. Today leg going to MCO from BOS dropped $5.00 pp. Fare coming back from MCO to BOS increased by $81 pp. JB will also credit you decrease in fares as a credit and no checked bag fee or cost to select your seats. They also have tv entertainment systems at each seat. Not sure if they fly out of Philly, but I know they do out of Newark.

You just never know. Good luck.

I believe Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays are the cheapest days to fly. Fridays and Sundays are the most expensive.
