Since I have no idea how to do a poll (yeah can you imagine, almost 3000 posts and I have no clue lol), what day of the week did/will you be married on.
And what was the reasoning for it?

I was thinking of a Monday @ noon @ WP, Sat check in, Sunday relax, monday get married and then tues-Sat enjoy WDW :)
And I am unsure if I want a catered event of a lunch at Citricos so if I do it on a Monday I won't feel pressured to meet the 7500 requirement.

That's exactly what we did. Another cool thing about a Monday wedding is that it enables people to travel on two of the three cheapest days for airfares, Saturday and Tuesday. Or they can do Saturday to Wednesday (the other cheap day) or to the following Saturday if they want to stay longer.

O wow, thanks, I wasn't even thinking of that!

Is this something that many disney/destination brides do?
I have been putting off calling b/c I keep rethinking the Disney wedding, and not having ALL of my family, but then I come on here and see all the pretty pictures and fall in love and remember why I want a Disney Wedding, b/c its the only thing that both me and fiance enjoy together.
I live 3 blocks from the beach, but he HATES the beach so if I had a beach wedding it would be special to me, but not him lol. We'll both enjoy this and it will be memorable.

We got married on a Thursday. If you do decide on a Monday wedding make sure you do the mail order wedding licence as they aren't open on the weekends. We flew in a week before the wedding got our licence on the Friday had a pre wedding celebration (Drinking Around the World) on the Tuesday wedding rehearsal on the Wednesday and then the wedding on the Thursday. To be honest the week before went really fast and we seemed to have a lot to do but I think part of that might have been because we flew in from the UK and had stuff we couldn't do until we got here. Our vacation started after the wedding.

October 10 1985 a Thursday

Renewed our Vows on September 21 2010 about the Celebrity Millenium somewhere between Seattle and San Francisco on a Tuesday

If we get our date, ours will be on a Monday as well :goodvibes

We were married on a Thursday. We picked this so our family and friends could stay through the weekend because most couldn't stay any longer than that or miss work on weekdays. Everyone came into town on Wednesday, we had a Welcome Dinner that night, the wedding on Thursday, then celebrated with everyone through the weekend.

We are renewing our vows on a Saturday, we asked several guests and they asked for a Saturday event, so that's what they received. :rotfl2:

we decided to get marrid on a thursday, that way people could fly down on Wednesday and spend a long weekend with us or have the weekend to travel back home. We also picked a thursday so that hopefully it would help us avoid conventions and get the reception location that we wanted. Hopefully our plan worked, we will find out in 9 days!!! fingers crossed :goodvibes

We got married on a Tuesday. Even though we did the mail order license I was so worried something might go wrong and wanted to make sure I had the extra day just in case.

We're probably getting married on a Friday, because, assumedly, our guests will only have to take one day of work off to come. (Well, I hope we're getting married on a Friday, anyway!)

We're getting married on a Monday. Originally we wanted to do it on a Thursday, but since we live so close to Orlando, we wanted coworkers to be able to go too. So, we picked MLK Jr. day, Monday Jan. 17th. That way most people have the day off so if they need to travel they wont have to take too many days off from work. Also, the minimum exp. is cheaper on a weekday, so that definitely was a factor for us. :goodvibes

DF and I will be getting married on Monday, May 16, 2011. We will be checking in Saturday the 14th and honeymooning until the 21st. We chose a Monday with the hope that we would get our first time choice at our location, SBP and we did! There really was no reason why we chose that day/date except we knew we wanted to be celebrating that week (we were engaged that week and my birthday is also the 20th)

We are doing a Thursday as well. On July 14th, 2011 to be exact. We'll be getting there on the monday and take care of business (license and what not), celebrate my birthday on the tuesday (the big quarter century), rehearsal, rehearsal dinner (wedding party only) and dessert party (for all guests) on the Wednesday, get hitched on the Thursday, and have the rest of the weekend to do whatever. We come back home on the Monday. Busy week!

Your wedding day is the day we got engaged!!!

We were married on a Thursday. One reason was the airfare as well. It was cheaper to fly on Tuesday's-Thursday's so some guests and family could be down there a couple of days early and if they were spending the week (which many did, then they got to fly home on the discounted days as well)

It also just didn't matter to us. We were all coming from Canada so everyone had to take time off work anyway, so we didn't see the need to have the Friday or Saturday typical wedding - we also thought we may have a better chance of getting our date :thumbsup2

We're getting married on a Thursday (Aug 25, '11). The main reason is that this will be our 10 year anniversary :lovestruc, but it also works with the logic others have mentioned about weekday weddings (airfare, minimums, etc).

I also got married on a Monday, June 14, 2010. It was perfect bc it allowed us to have a Wishes wedding with a $10k minimum.

I'm debating between Thursday and Monday. On the Thursday the only time slot left available is 7:30. Wishes is at 10 so I could do a Sago Cay reception and catch that and not have to worry about the dessert party. Monday has pretty much any time still available. I was thinking of doing a mid-morning and brunch reception then a dessert party later the same night, but my worry is that people would want to skip the dessert party and get back on the road. :( It will probably come down to whether that Thursday is still available after Thanksgiving. That is when I'm telling my parents my plans of a Disney wedding.
