What day do most people check in?

I was reading the time that people check in thread and it made me wonder what is the slowest day to check in?
I have some flexability and I am thinking it may help with getting a great room if I check in on a slow day. Does it matter?

We checked out on the Tuesday before Easter. Our Tiffany Town Car driver told us that Tuesday was the slowest day--at least at the airport. I imagine that would be the slowest day for check-ins also.

According to the folks at Polynesian, the busiest check-out day is Saturday and the busiest check-in day is Sunday. As with the post above, I've also heard from drivers the slowest day is Tuesday.

this yr DS13 & I are checking in:
Sat Aug 13 to VWL
Fri Aug 19 to WL
Sun Aug 21 to BCV

We always check in on a Thurs and out on the following Saturday giving us a full 10 days....wahoo.

Never had a problem on a Thurs except last year I stood in line at POP for over 1 hour to check in at 11AM.

I would think saturdays would be the busiest. I have never had a problem though. we always get there around 9am and check right in. we usually check in on a thursday or a friday.

Wouldn't you be more likely to get a better room on the busiest check out day? Folks are out by mid-day and the rooms are cleaned and ready that afternoon right? Seems like the slowest check in/out day would offer the fewest choice of rooms. The shorter check in line would be the only benefit of that.

ITA but it depends what you mean by a "better" room. Some people have their heart set on a very specific group of rooms. Corner room upper floor for example. If your requests are that specific you're likely to be disappointed no matter what day you check in. Certainly you'll greatly reduce your chances of getting a bad room and getting a room in the general area you want.

Thanks for all the info! It sounds like you could drive yourself crazy trying to overplan to beat the odds!
All I am trying to get is a castle view with a balcony. CR and GF are my top picks now. We did the Poly 2 yrs ago and had an unbelieveable view so I am looking for a different location the next time we go. That said, I plan to book GFLV or CR tower anyway so I'm not looking for anything I'm not willing to pay for. I just would like a desireable room if it is available.

It sounds like an early Sat checkin may give me the most luck and actually that is what we had when we were at Poly before. Let's hope for cheap airfare! :goodvibes

Not long ago, I discussed this with a WDW resort manager friend of mine. The single heaviest day (combined checkins and checkouts) there is Sunday. There are many Saturday checkins and Friday (late) is also a peak.

Tuesday and Wednesday are the two lightest at her resort.

cr cm told us on our last trip that sunday was the busiest check in day

Half of the tower rooms in CR are Bay Lake views. I suspect more than half the guests would prefer a MK view. You might do better with GFLV or even going back to the POLY.

If you book CR have CRO put a MK view request on your reservation, check in early, volunteer to wait for a room and if necessary ask to be moved if something opens up.

I know I should not even be worring about it because we are not going for 20 months!
GF was my top pick for several reasons; Xmas decor, luxury, view. But, with so many different buildings, is there a better chance of a MK view there? I almost would not care which building as long as I can see the castle.

CR is running a tight second for location to MK, the height of the view and a little cost savings. others in our family want to stay onsite and the range in price at CR would make it a place we can all stay at the same resort.

I'm afraid if we go back to Poly, we may run the risk of dissapointment after last time. It was great!

I always check in on a Tuesday or Wednesday and check out the following Monday or Tuesday. Have never had more than a 5 minute wait in line.

WOOHOO! We arrive on a Tuesday, which we choose based on that day of week being the only one that had seats left on the plane!!! Good to know and hopefully this will hold true and we won't have what we had in January with arriving and checking in on a Friday night! Didn't matter it was a crazy 1AM, the places were packed!

This could be true. We checked in Saturday night. Had very little wait, and we got a preffered location and water view without requesting it,or paying for it. :)
