What CROCS did for me!!

I have been watching "So You Wanna Be A Soapstar" on SoapNet. I know....I need to get a life, but I gave up my last soap last year, so this is my only guilty pleasure. Anyway, one of the final four contestants has been wearing red Crocs for the last two shows. Makes him look good from head to toe...if you know what I mean!

Help me with Crocs, please.

I picked up a pair or red crocs at Dick's sporting goods. they are the Beach variety. They are size medium (ladies 8-9) I wear an 8 or 8 1/2 in shoes depending on how they are cut. The crocs are going back I think because I feel like my toes are touching the front of them. It's not my big toe either -- but the two closest to the little toe. No they are not long, I think it's the shape of the croc. I feel strange getting a size large though since they are for ladies shoe sizes 10 and 11.

Anyone else have this experience?

Is the Cayman sized any different?

I saw on the Crocs website that you should buy them big, but how big is too big?

Are the Niles comfortable? I worry that the front section where they are cut out would rub my toes. I thinking of buying them for a upcoming Disney trip. Can you walk in them all day?

Thanks for the info.

Ordered my Niles on Monday night and received them today. Taylor Shoes is a great business to deal with.

I have the Beach CROCS in M (8-9), Niles in size 9...my normal shoe size is 8 - 8 1/2. I also have no arches, thanks to my jumping off of things as a kid...wore orthopedic shoes in grade school and they are wide. For me the Beach fit better...even though big. I tried the S size, but my big toe hit the front of the shoe. The Niles are a bit narrow for me, so they aren't ascomfortable. I wore my Beach 6 days on our trip to WDW in June...minus the 4 hours I wore my Nike and ended up with a blister. They were great for the rain...every day we were there...I trudged through 2 inch puddles and within 10 minutes my feet were dry. Poor DH and DS, who weren't CROCS converts yet, had the soggy sock and shoe feet.

The best advice is IF you buy the CROCS, try them out at home first...wear them for a while. It was kinda like when I first got contacts...a couple of hours one day, a few more the second day, and so on.

Hope this helps!

For the first two days of park hopping I wore my Easy Spirit tennis everywhere. By the end of day two, not only did my feet hurt but also my right calf, knee and the pain was progressing into my hip. The next day I put on my Crocs and within 4 hours my feet and legs were fine. I wore my Crocs the rest of the week and never had another problem. Some days I took socks with me in case they got sweaty but only used them once.

I so wish I could wear these to work but I just don't see them fitting in with ultra business attire.

If you are in doubt, BUY THE CROCS!!!!

My daughter loves her's as well.

BE CAREFULL!
I slipped while wearing my oldest ( 3 months?) pair of CROCS! So I turned them over and saw that I have worn them so much that the tread on the bottom is almost worn off. :guilty:

On a brighter note... now that I have worn out a pair I can get a different color pair! I swore that I would limit my self to the 8 pairs :rolleyes1 I allready own... but if a pair is worn out I can make them garden shoes only and then get a new "dress" pair? Right?....

Really, any one else have this happen yet? I have slipped a few times while wearing them, and it is allways when I have on an older pair, and they all have less tread then my newer ones.

After all of these Croc posts I kept going to the store and trying on the Beach croc. I just couldn't get them to fit right.

After reading some more I decided to try the Cayman since it came in real sizes, and it is slightly narrower. Nobody had them around here so I took a leap of faith and went to the Taylor web site (bless you swilphil!)

I ordered the khaki and they arrrived promptly. I wore them last Saturday at an event where I had to stand on a concrete floor for about six hours. No problems at all.

The Cayman is a great fit for me so of course I have now ordered some more.

I have tile floors at home that are just treacherous when they get a little bit wet. These are the ONLY shoes that I have ever found that don't slip on the wet tile. I will be careful though as the tread wears down.

I've been a strictly Birkenstock girl for about five years now. This is the first shoe that has made me willing to give up Birks.

I'm going to try a pair of Metro for this winter.

The Taylor shoe store people are a delight to work with.

Just got back from 8 days at DW. I wore my Crocs almost the entire time....and it's the first time in my life I have been in an amusement park walking all day and not gotten blisters!! I can't believe it! There were people all over the place wearing them and I got asked about them several times. My feet were also cooler than I think they've ever been....even in Tevas!

I don't have the time to read this whole thread since we are leaving in 2 weeks. Should I invest in Crocs or a new pair of NIKES? What is the difference in the Beach model and Caymen besides price? Which would be best for me? I wear a size 7-71/2, my feet are not exceptional wide, although 4 pregnancys have made them wider than they used to be. I can't get them into the size 7 shoes I used to wear pre kids. Now I pretty much only own flip flops of all colors and styles and my stretched out Nikes from my last pregnancy. Think I could go with the beach? Any advice would be great. Thanks.

I'm at WDW right now and have been wearing my 4 month old Beaches almost the entire time and my feet feel great. They haven't gotten hot and sweaty either, which is strange, since they tend to get sweaty in New England. :confused3 I bought a new pair of Niles for the trip, but they are not as comfortable on me as the Beach model. The beaches seem to have a thicker, and therefore more cushioned footbed which feels like it provides more support. So, I've been walking around in the Beaches, and using the Niles in the pool. My feet have been floating ahead of me down the lazy river at SAB all week! :teeth:

Got mine the other day and I love them... They are so comfortable..

After reading about Crocs on different websites, DH and I bought a Beach pair for our September trip in late July. I LOVE THESE SHOES! I think I've worn them almost every day at one point or another since we bought them. DH works in a hospital and is on his feet all day, and loves to wear his to work. They are ugly as homemade sin, but the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. I plan on wearing them on our trip, and hopefully they'll do great.

Go with the Beach...two reasons...they are found more easily...and they might fit better if your feet have gotten wider thanks to the youngun's...mine did after DS, then finally went back down, and now they are wider than ever...I love my Beach CROCS!

I'm considering ordering a pair of Caymans from the Taylor Shoes website, since they're apparently the same price there as the Beach model.

I haven't seen any Caymans in a store. I normally wear a size 8 1/2, but when I tried on the Beach Crocs at a store, I was tempted to buy the Large size, which is women's 10-11. The mediums fit fine without the strap, but with the strap my toes felt too cramped. According to crocs.com, that just means the strap needs stretching. Ok, so if I order Caymans, should I get an 8 or a 9?

I wear a 7 1/2 in sandals and an 8 in a closed toe shoe. I bought the Cayman's (from Taylor - great store) in an 8 and they fit me perfectly with or without the strap. I would probably go with a 9 in the Caymans if I wore an 8 1/2.

I couldn't get the Beach to fit me at all, but I love the fit of the Cayman. I went back and ordered some more in navy for the fall. Same great service from Taylor.

They have knock offs on sale at JC Penneys for $19.99 They were white, butter, and beige the vent holes were smaller. I slipped one on and they seemed pretty cushey and seemed to run a little shorter :wave2:

They also have the knock off's at Wal-mart. They're about $9.98 and were in hunter green, black, pink and light blue (I think) they may have had white... I was in a hurry and didn't go up and down all of the aisles. The holes are diamond shaped rather than round and they didn't feel quite as squishy. I didn't have time to try them on, so they may be the same as the Crocs but the foam felt different.

Has anyone tried the Airwalks from Payless? I tried them on in the store and they are pretty comfortable and alot cheaper than the crocs. I can't decide!!!

I just got some but they make a noise when I walk. Pretty embarassing in a hallway of quiet kids.

Yeah, that is a bit of an embarrassing sound...my DS, who's 13 calls them Croc farts...oh, I hope that is not a bad word for the boards...sorry moderators! Actually I think it's more like a suction cup...I was interpreting in the hospital a few days ago when I heard that sound and knew one of the nurses had on CROCS even though they were covered in surg scrubs.
