What CROCS did for me!!

lovesdumbo ~ glad I could help!
I do love the Derby Street shops although I haven't been to nearly all the stores in there yet. It should be really nice once the spring weather comes along. I did see the Tevas on sale at REI.com...not sure yet if I should order them or wait. I couldn't try them on without socks at the store and I'm really still unsure about whether they are "Disney" comfortable or not.

Vi--I sent a private message to you!! And I will just take the oppertunity to sing this small little ditty!

"It's a small world after all, It's a small world after all
It's a small world after all, It's a small small world...

Sorry everyone I just HAD to do that!!! :rolleyes1

So far I haven't gotten any blisters!!! BUT, with that said, I bought mine a size bigger because I like the room...I didn't want anything tight or snug. If you are not used to wearing these or other clogs, buying them a bit bigger might take a few days getting used to--has one person mentioned feeling like their feet were swimming...but after they have a chance to conform to your foot, I found them much more comfortable loose--and no blisters after walking in them for 10 days!!!

I just bought a pair yesterday. They are the Metro style that has holes on the side, but not on the top. The store also had a style that had no holes at all, but the salesman said your foot gets hotter in those. I wish they'd had the sandals, but they are not coming in until next month. The new sandals have real sizes like the Metros, not just small, med., large. Am I the only one who wears the clogs with the strap around the back of my foot? When I'm walking at WDW, I just don't like the feeling of my foot not having any support back there.

Yeah, the sales lady told me that she, too, noticed the ones without the holes got hotter. And yes, I alwo wear my Beach style with the strap around the back of my foot. They don't feel tight, but yet I feel like I still have plenty of room. Enjoy! :earboy2:

We decided to give the Crocs a try. They're certainly cheap enough that it's no big deal if they don't work out!
Ordered a pair of Caymans for DH (he's a tweener size) and a pair of Niles for me.
They should be here in plenty of time for us to try them out a bit before our trip in April.

When making the decission to wear them or not at WDW--just pack the other shoes you would normal wear and try them both out...I did take my very well broken in NB as well as my Teva's and I ended up not wearing either of those---just my Crocs...but I too wasn't sure in the beginning, however in the end I couldn't have been more happy that I wore the Croc...for many reasons.

They are great slip ons for the pool
When it rained...and it did, the crocs were PERFECT!
When I was sitting it was easy to just slip them off and relax my feet--slip back on
At the end of the day I could actually walk.

ENJOY!

I ordered my Crocs on 3-12 and got an email today that they are on back order then I got another one saying they were shipped on 3-12 also. I guess I will give them time to get here and see. I ordered the sandals and will wear them for a day at Six Flags just to test out before going to WDW... :wave2: :wave2:

I just checked the zappos website, and it said that more styles are coming in April. Think I'll wait and see if they offer more than just the beach style that they offer now.

I got my pink beach Crocs on Saturday. I wear a size 9 and got the 8-9 size. They are too snug with the strap, but they fit just right if the stap is forward. The only problem I have with them is that they smell. My dh can't smell them, but I'm sensitive to smells. The sales gal told me the smell will wear off. I'm thinking about getting some black ones too :flower:

I don't know which Tevas I have but there is no way I could wear them all day at Disney. I bring them for the pool and maybe to wear in the evening but I know I couldn't wear them all day. I don't think I could wear Crocs all day at Disney but I would like to try them for around home...

A week in the 40's maybe spring will come.

I have to say after reading this thread that I went to the mall and tried some on. I thought they were awful. They were so wide that my feet sloshed around in them and the arch support came no where near my arch. I'd suggest trying them on instead of ordering them online. My mall department store had them.

(It was unfortunate because I ended up buying a $100 pair of Josef Seibel's instead.)

Hmmm, sounds like the fit wasn't right! Certainly like I have said before...getting used to wearing a shoe on your foot that doesn't feel tight takes a little getting used to for sure, but then again not everyone will like them and Crocs can't be worn by everyone (no two feet are the same). I feel fortunate that's for sure!! Well, enjoy your other shoes.

I'm a tweener too. I wear a 8 W in New Balance. I've found a couple of places in town to try these on, but my toes hit the end in the size S, and I swim around in the M. I like a strap, but in the M the strap doesn't even touch the back of my foot! Seems like a big jump in sizes, and a bad jump since LOTS of women wear a size 8. The salesladies in both places told me they didn't buy them because of this. I was also able to try a pair of Caymans marked size 8, but they fit the same as M. Still want some for our May trip, maybe the new ones will be out by then.

I went out and got a pair of Crocs yesterday. My feet are sooo happy! I wear a size 10 and got the Large size. It seems just right. I have the plantar facius (heel spur) problem too, so I am picky about shoes.

The salesperson said that those who have a "between size" are better off getting the styles that come in separate sizes. I think the Cayman style would work for tweeners. I gather it was developed because the S-M-L concept doesn't work for everyone's feet.

They do fit loosely and though it felt a little weird at first, the shoes soon conformed to my foot and I hardly know I have shoes on. These are the lighest weight shoes I've ever owned.

These are really not the kind of shoe you need to or have to worry about the "Ultimate" fit because they are not made that way--If one size is too small and your toes touch the tip--and you feel your feet swim in the next size then you should get the latter!! I normally wear a 91/2 and sometimes a 10 because I have a wide foot...My Caymans are size 11-12 because they are comfortable that way for me...at first they seemed really big but after a day or two it was amazing how my feet just fell right into them. Sure, they are big but it doesn't matter with these--It's sort of a different concept, but it works for my feet! I Loeve Them!!

I agree that they stink to high heavens! I got mine today and while they are sooo comfy, the stink is horrible. I am hoping that they will air out a little. I really would love to wear these to work!

YIKES! Mine don't smell at all. Of course I haven't actually leaned down and smelled them. :rotfl2:

Because they're synthetic, they will off-gas (just like anything new - new car, new carpet, etc.)

My DH came home the other day and said "oh - wow - I could smell the new carseat when I walked in the house" (we had just ordered a new britax for the baby which has very little plastic on it and he's not sensitive to smells like I am). So, I was really surprised and made sure to give it time to off-gas before using it.

If you want to let it off-gas, stick them outside for a while on a nice day. It will help.
