I know points and companions are reward flights. Is it also a reward flight where you get the free upgrade from economy to premium economy?

I understand a reward seat means a flight where you use miles and pay tax, an upgrade is is called an upgrade.
This is the Reward seat page http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/en/gb/frequentflyer/spendmiles/rewardflights/index.jsp

Upgrade/companion page http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/en/gb/frequentflyer/spendmiles/upgradeandcompanionflights/index.jsp

Very complicated to understand their terminology.:rotfl:

My Brother has just booked a trip using miles, LON~MCO Virgin Upper then Vegas back to London BA 1st class (quoted $14,000 if not using miles:scared1:) just cosing him taxes and internal flight between MCO and Vegas.

Thanks Wayne! I thought I had to pay cash for economy ticket and then upgrade but it was using miles. So I worked it out that it was cheaper to do that than get a companion seat (couldn't combine them sadly) as the PE ticket would have cost £600 more! So I have two PE returns for a grand total of £1300. Not too bad really.

When I was looking at an upgrade with points you had to buy one of the full price economy tickets to qualify - couldn't do it from the cheaper economy fares :(

Worked out better value to go for a PE flight using M+M :)

mine was buying the economy on points then free upgrade to PE. All thanks to Virgin CC. Happy with end result - and very happy to be heading back to WDW next Jan!
