What Country would you

Up to about 2 months ago I would have said Japan....I still love the place, but after the disasters they had, I'm not sure now.

Malaysia. DH and I just saw a program about the top ten budget places to retire to abroad and we both just loved the look of it.

I would go somewhere with year round great weather. I think it would be Aruba.

I thought of that one, but Im not sure how warm it is there

I think you should check the geography and climate of Australia. There are plenty of warm destinations there. It's pretty big!

Italy. Actually, I'm thinking of moving there anyway, within the next 15-20 years. I have family with a business who say there is a job for me if I want it -or I could teach, citizenship isn't a problem for me, and I already speak the language.

Not that Italy isn't without its problems; in many way it has more than its share. But show me a place on earth that doesn't?

Puerto rico

Maybe UAE... have a friend living and working there and it sounds pretty good.

MY AIN COUNTREE

I’m far frae my hame, an’ I’m weary aftenwhiles,
For the langed-for hame-bringing an’ my Father’s welcome smiles;
I’ll ne’er be fu’ content, until my een do see
The shining gates o’ heaven an’ my ain countree.

The earth is flecked wi’ flowers, mony-tinted, fresh an’ gay,
The birdies warble blithely, for my Father made them sae;
But these sights an’ these soun’s will as naething be to me,
When I hear the angels singing in my ain countree.

I’ve his gude word of promise that some gladsome day the King
To his ain royal palace his banished hame will bring:
Wi’ een an’ wi’ hearts runnin’ ower we shall see
The King in his beauty in our own countree.

My sins hae been mony, an’ my sorrows hae been sair,
But there they’ll never vex me, nor be remembered mair;
His bluid has made me white, his hand shall dry mine ee,
When he brings me home at last to my ain countree.

Like a bairn to his mither, a wee birdie to its nest,
I wad fain be ganging noo unto my Saviour’s breast;
For he gathers in his bosom, witless, worthless lambs like me,
An’ he carries them himsel’ to his ain countree.

He’s faithfu’ that hath promised, he’ll surely come again;
He’ll keep his tryst wi’ me, at what hour I dinna ken:
But he bids me still to wait, an’ ready aye to be,
To gang at ony moment to my ain countree.

So I’m watchin’ aye, an’ singin’ o’ my hame as I wait,
For the soundin’ o’ his footfa’ this side the gowden gate,
God gie his grace to ilka ane what listens noo to me,
That we may a’ gang in gladness to our ain countree.

I don't know - I'd have to do some research to find somewhere that fit the criteria:
a. good single-payer health care
b. good support to families through maternity leave, child care, wellness plans
c. good school systems, government funded university
d. WARM CLIMATE - this winter has just been too freaking much!!!

If I could find somewhere that checked off all the boxes, I'd probably go there voluntarily, no one would have to "kick me out" of here first..

DH and i have discussed this at length, and, if we could, we would move to new zealand. i want to be as far away from my crazy family as possible. honestly, all the stress in my life comes from them. scotland is also a possibility, as that is where DH's family is originally from. i know, the weather isn't the greatest, but it's a beautiful country.
