What country(s) are your Ancestors from?

My ancestors are mostly from the British Isles, some being dated back to the Mayflower.

My grandfather and grandmother on my mothers side came over from Italy (mom was 1st generation american) and my fathers side of the family is from Ireland (not sure when they came to the US...think dad was just 1st or 2nd generation american.)

My Mom's Fathers ancestors came from Canada and my Mom's Mothers ancestors came from France...My Dad's Fathers ancestors came from Norway and my Dad's Mothers ancestors came from Ireland...

So that would make me part Canadian, French, Norwegian and Irish!

Canadian.....and my mom was part English and part french......but we do not parle vous...and our town is mostly French Canadians...wish my daddy had spoken to us in French.....he was such a dear man.....

So far, all I've been able to discover are ancestors from England and Scotland who emigrated to Virginia a long time ago.

I'm sure I have some northern US relations but I haven't found them yet.

My husband can trace a great great x ? (I don't know how many greats) who was William Wallace (as in Braveheart) but I have no one famous in my family that I know of

He also had great grandfathers who were officers in the Union Army. I haven't found any of those yet either.

On my fathers, fathers side this is what we know. Matthys Jansen Laenen Van Pelt and his brother Teunisn Jansen Laenen Van Pelt immigrated with their families aboard the "Rosenbloom" from Amsterdam in 1663. Matthys is my great, great and so on grandfather. My maiden name is Lane. Boy, did they shorten the last name! On my fathers, mothers side we can trace back to 1650 to Germany, they came to the United States in the early 1800's. My mothers side of the family are from Sweden. They came to the States also in the early 1800's.
