When we originally planned this trip we thought it would be nice to have a couple days home to recover before work/school starts back up. Now, we're wondering WHY we'd want to come home 3 days early. We're doing the parks before the cruise and it doesn't seem worth it to drive back over there for 1 night.

We drive from the Buffalo NY area. We also have 3 young kids...4, 5 and 6. Is there something to do for 1 night down in FL or something for 2 nights in route back home (between Cape Canaveral and Buffalo)? I'm blalancing between adding something fun enough to offset the benefits of getting back in routine a few days early.

Any ideas?

Sea World is always a wonderful option, Islands of Adventure..if the kids like Dr. Seuss or Super Heros.

Would the space center have things geared toward kids as young as mine?

We are doing Universal/WDW before the cruise. I'm just looking for a good excuse not to go back up North 3 days before I have to...lol. Like I said, we can either stay in Florida for 1 night or drive someplace part of the way toward home (S/N Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia etc) and stay for 2 nights.

Thanks for the responces...
Jess

I would think your kids would be a bit too young for Kennedy Space Center--we went when DD was 9. I don't think that she would have enjoyed it that young. How about Hilton Head Island--it is great for kids, plus you could get a villa with a washer/dryer and have that chore out of the way for home. Not sure when you are going, but Disney Visa has a good rate for a 2 bedroom, or you could rent points from a DVC member.

Just saw how close you are to leaving--probably wouldn't work. Hve you thought about the Myrtle Beach, SC area--there is a nice kids museum, Ripleys Aquarium, etc. LOts of hotels oceanfront with indoor pools,, and suites??

As an experienced I-95er :smooth: you have several options. I would definitely do one day at Islands of Adventure.. Next to AK, this has become my son's favorite park. Also, a little out of the way, but well worthi it on the way back up is Busch Gardens in Williamsburg :duck: I know this is not a Disney place, but it is fun, different and clean (voted cleanest park in US) and my son loved it (when he was 8 last year). Sea World is alse great.

I would stop at a nice family beach resort. There is Disney's Hilton Head, but there are many other fabulous resorts out there with kids programs, etc.
