What costumes will everyone be wearing at Mickey's Halloween Party 2013??

I am trying to come up with a costume. I have an idea, but it would require white face paint. I wonder if it will be comfortable and how hard it will be to apply and remove (I have no experience with this). Will I look crazy if I show up to the park at 4 PM as well? I have an irrational fear of being the only person in costume in a particular location.

We won't be in face paint, but we will definitely be in costume, ready to party at 4:00pm. In fact, we may be a few minutes early since we have a 4:05 ADR at the Plaza (using our park hoppers to get in). If you're worried about getting any stares at 4:00, we'll help take the pressure off with our entry at 3:45. ;)

Speaking of arriving at the party around 4:00 in costumes, I'm a little worried that no one will no who DH and I are supposed to be. The kids are easy - Mulan and a ninja warrior. But I'm going as Khaleesi from Game of Thrones, and DH is going as Ser Jorah (also from GOT). So I'll be the chick with an obviously fake long blond wig, flowing blue gown, holding a toy dragon. Very curious as to how this is going to go.... :D

Good to know there will be other halloween geeks there with me! Also, Game of Thrones is extremely popular, I bet a lot of people will recognize you. Not me though, I have no idea who those characters are. ;)

I am just not sure about face paint. I really have never used it and do not know. I guess I'll test run it this weekend. If it works I will be a "singing bust" from the Haunted Mansion (but I don't sing).

We will be there at 4pm sharp dressed as pirates with some face paint on. You'll be fine.

We went as street sign on Monday 10/14. Got lots of comments on the costumes especially from the cast members at The Speedway. We had a terrific time, the weather was perfect and the crowds were not bad at all.

Honestly, I have no idea who any of the GOT characters are. HOWEVER - I've seen plenty of costumes that I think are just plain cool & fun, even though I don't know what they're supposed to be :-) Go for it! I think it's popular enough that you'll be recognized, and if not, have fun in your uniqueness :-D

I went as Ariel in her Sail dress on Friday night, (10/4) those people who got it, really loved it, as did Ariel and all the CM's in her meet & greet!

I think we saw you! I believe Gaston was hitting on you...or at least talking to you. I thought the sail dress idea was so original.

I'm also curious about this - was thinking of simple skeleton t-shirt, pirate hat, and half painted face (only shows the curse in the moonlight) - very simple white & black face paint. My sis and I are planning on getting there at 4pm and hoping to stay to the end. Does anyone have experience of wearing face paint throughout the event? Does it get "ugly" through the night? Uncomfortable? Hot and sticky? I'm thinking it might just be a matter of finding good quality paint and doing some touchups through the night?

Brian - maybe you could record the song they sing on your phone & play that now and then for an extra?

Oh, it's already on my phone, just for my own listening pleasure. :goodvibes I'm not sure anyone could hear it over the crowd and ambient music though.

It would require full white face paint and hair spray too. I just don't know....

I was a haunted mansion ballroom dancer ghost so I had face paint on the whole night. It was no big deal. I didn't do any touch ups. I was only worried about what would happen if it rained, but luckily it did not. I also entered the park at 5 pm. Just had to remember to be careful when I had to scratch my nose.

So no Splash Mountain then?

Cute costume idea ... if/when we return to MNSSHP in the future, my family may just borrow your idea! :)

We were also there on the 14th as a "bunch of used crayons" with creepy names like "putrid pink". We opted for coloured baseball hats instead of pointy hats. We wanted to be as comfy as possible and didn't want any packing issues

We also had a great time ... and thought crowds were very manageable ... even watching the first parade in Frontierland was good ... we got settled in around 7:40 and it was crowded but not crazily so by the time the headless horseman rode.

Regarding face paint, DS went to the ToT villain party last year in full Darth Maul face paint. It was quite hit and humid (like 80 still after midnight), and the makeup was sticky and easy to smudge, but he didn't complain about discomfort, and it still looked fine in nighttime pics. I later ran a local 5K in my Maleficient headdress, cape, and full face paint. It was in the low 50's, and even with the sweating, it still looked pretty good when I crossed the finish line. Go for it--you rarely get the chance to do face paint! And take lots of pics, cuz it's a pain to do and you'll want to remember it! LOL!

We did the party last night and had a blast. We were the Cinderella gang. My mom, in her ECV was the coachman. We decorated her ECV like the carriage in all blue with white lights. I was Fairy Godmother, one of my girls was Cinderella, and other girl was the horse pulling the carriage. We were stopped every 10 ft by people asking to take pics. The CMs kept telling us it was the best costume ensemble they had ever seen. LOL Party was sold out and mobbed though but was great fun.

So my costume is almost ready...nothing like pushing it down to the wire! I wanted to post pics before I go, but I may have to wait until after. I am still nervous about the face paint and riding the bus and looking like a crazy person, but I'll just have to deal. I thought I could wait to do the makeup once there (it is all white, takes no time at all). I think I need to test the complete outfit at least once before I leave on Thursday.

for future reference, I'll give you a lil f/x artist tip.. after makeup is on, dab powder over the makeup, it will set the makeup and will make it less smudgable.

Yeah, I was planning on doing that. I did a half application on Sunday just because I have never used stuff like that. It does go on easy (and off too). Now, if TSA doesn't confiscate my hair spray I'm all set!

So, I leave tomorrow, but this costume is finally done! Here is what it looks like with face paint and black shirt and pants. I'm going to do the face paint a little more thoroughly and spray my hair if I can get it on the plane.

Think I'll fit in at the Haunted Mansion?
