What cool "new" things have you found???

My Kryptonite is cool gadgets....

I will try and restrain myself!

For getting better video stabilization I ordered a camera stabilizer (steady-cam). This thing is great for getting those flying/floating shots and for helping prevent the Blair Witch from getting into any video footage.

My other is my handheld video recorder. The Zoom Q3HD. This one is different than a flip or Kodak camera. This unit has some SERIOUS microphones on it and makes incredible audio recordings, plus, the video is a bonus!!!

We have really enjoyed watching netflix streaming on our wii.
So easy and there are so many awesome shows both old and new.
Also have been making my own pizza dough and sauce. I use King Arthur Flour.
It really is the best to make dough with.
Here's a simple recipe

In small bowl (proof yeast)
4tsp of yeast, 1 tsp of sugar in bowl mixed with 1/4 cup of water that is 105-110 degrees (no hotter)

In large mixing bowl 4 cups of flour, dash of salt, 1/4 cup olive oil.
When yeast mixture is proofed add to large bowl, stir together with fork.
After it is mixed well, dust surface with flour to knead dough.

After dough is kneaded... place back in bowl that you drizzle with olive oil. Let it rise knock it down and it's ready to go.
Makes four large pies or about 6-10 small.
I have been grilling on my grill. Divine.

Thomas' Mini Pretzel Bagels.
:worship:

MMMMmmmmm......
And apparently they are great fuel for my runs.
Just had my best five miler yet!

Sooo yummy! :thumbsup2. I haven't tried it yet before a run....guess I'll be buying some more now!

My Kindle is my life. I love being able to switch between the kindle, ipad and itouch! I will rarely read actual books anymore. As for the buying books addiction, I had that until I had to move and had 5 extremely heavy boxes of books to move - and that's after 4 trips to half price books to get rid of some.

I'm lovin' my new crossbody bag from 31. I bought it with sole intention on using it for our Disney trip next month but I love it so much it has become my regular purse. I like using it for grocery / mall trips because I can be "hands free" while shopping :goodvibes

Also agree with the podcast team - LOVE my Hydroflask - bought one for all 4of us and they will be making a return trip to the World as well!!

Buying books is DH's weakness. I keep telling him about this amazing place called a library where he can get all of his books FOR FREE but he seems to not grasp the concept.

That being said, if he's spending $$ on a book, he wants an ACTUAL book. Which I guess I understand.....

But thanks, Kevin! :)

For Kindle owners, something to watch out for is your local public library starting to lend ebooks on Kindle. Here is the article from the NY Times:

http://www.nytimes.com/2011/04/21/technology/21amazon.html

Even better, you don't need a Kindle to read the Kindle-ized ebooks, you can just download the Kindle reader for your computer, smartphone, or tablet for FREE. Free is good. ;-)

Mike....is this your "movie making" outfit and are you talking it to Europe?:scared1:

Egad, I'm picturing a fugly housecoat with black lace trim on the sleeves. :rotfl2: It could be worse. He could wear that mesh shirt and Jams pants outfit on the "mullet man" photo. :scared:

I haven't actually gotten my new thing in the mail yet but I thought I would post anyway.

It is the Belkin Mini Surge Protector. It is a three way outlet with two USB charging spots as well. It seems perfect for traveling with our millions of gadgets.

You'll love it! I have one that is indispensable for travel outside of North America. Most of our gadgets come with power transformers. That is what the brick on your laptop power cord is. So, you can plug these devices into oddly configured power outlets all over the world, providing you can fit the correct prong into the correct hole. So, what I do is have one plug adapter, plug the power strip into that and, voila, with your Belkin strip you can plug in 3 devices and two USB cables with only one plug adapter. It's fantastic!!!!!

Oh good!! I am glad I am not the only one excited over a power strip! :lmao:

I've got that and it is handy. However, I just got an iPad and discovered that you don't get enough current from the USP ports to charge it while you use the iPad. You get a message that its not charging. But, apparently it does work well enough when the iPad (and me) is sleeping, because the next morning the iPad was fully charged.

Well, reading this thread I got curious about the iPad book cover, so I looked it up.... And yup, it will be here in about 5 days! I wanted to get the iPhone cover/ wallet but they are currently unavailable so i'll have to wait patiently for the email that says they are back in stock.

:cloud9: same here. After seeing it, I had to have it and the best part is...

I ordered it through Amazon.com and got free shipping and since I have an Amazon rewards Visa card, had enough reward points to get it for Free. :woohoo:
