What company or who is the best place to book a Disney cruise through?

We use Costco. we do the OBB for the discount and then transfer it to Costco for the additional Costco perks.

When was this? I ask because I just looked at the Costco website today and it said something along the lines of "must be booked through Costco not Disney agent."

We prefer to book directly with DCL...that way they are responsible for everything, including getting us there. My daughter requires vehicles with lifts or ramps and we have found it easier to deal directly with DCL....their service and follow through has always been excellent. Always recommend travel insurance, whether through DCL or whoever you are comfortable with. We like to pre-pay our tips, it is just easier when budgeting. You can always change the amounts once on board if you feel you need to.

I agree with this completely. Although some have had good experience with a company that won't answer the phone but makes you use emails, we like to have a human to talk to, bounce an idea off, reassure us if there is something we're worried about, etc. etc. Since we've cruised enough we don't need the advice of a travel agent, DCL is our choice.

Some travel agents offer an onboard credit as an incentive to book with them. Your call as to whether it's worth the loss of direct access to Disney for many things (and whether in some cases it's worth losing a human to call and talk to).

Your cruise price is the same through a travel agent or through Disney Cruise Lines. Plenty of folks here happy with all three choices (Disney direct website/phone, travel agent you can talk to, travel agent who only works on email).

We usually book through DCL, but we transferred our upcoming cruise to our TA. She's been very helpful.

You're able to book onboard and let DCL know that Costco is your TA (or you have also have 30 days to move the reservation) and still get both the OBB and 8% back in Costco cash cards. Costco has the most generous incentive I've seen from TA's, and many times, I contact DCL directly with questions as needed afterwards (or I call Costco and they reach out to DCL for me while I'm on the line). I think it's a win/win.

Can we list Costco as TA even though we are booked with someone else for this cruise? We are currently having a frustraaating experience with the TA my dad booked with.

No. You have to list the same agent or no agent. If you list no agent, you can transfer to the new agent within 30 day.
