Hi
I had to rewire while having the loft extension done and now everything is being redecorated, the Front room is Duck egg blue/ laura ashley wallpaper, the dining room is red&cream, the hallway is being painted a colour called period box tree (its sort of green), i need to decide on a kitchen colour, the new kitchen is a oak one with a black worktop and that black sparkly star granite splashback, stainless stell appliances, black sparkley floor, i was thinking of using 2 colours in the kitchen but cant decide what, i was thinking of maybe doing the chimley breast in blackboard paint but didnt know if it would be to dark or not?

ive done so much ive run out of ideas!, i have to resist the urge to paint the kitchen green or blue as i have so much of this in my house already wanted something a bit diffrent, i also cant decide on tiles for the other wall over the worktop, to go with the black sparke(or that too much black??) or tie in the wall colour with a nice glass tile in a similar colour(lol seen some nice duck egg ones but like i say im trying to steer myself away from that colour)

i see colours i like but am at a loss of how to pull it all together.

will post pics of jessies room in the loft finished tomorow when carpet is done.

Sorry Terri, I'm rubbish when it comes to colour co-ordination ;) I look forward to seeing your photos though :thumbsup2

Gosh, it sounds like we - nearly - live in the same house!!!

I have a Laura Ashley wallpaper/greeny-blue painted walls in the lounge and dining room (we spent around £50 on tester pots - went for 2 ever so slightly different shades as there are glass doors inbetween the 2 rooms - now you cant even see they are 2 different colours!!)

Our hall way is a lovely pale blue - painted it cream first then blue 4 months later as I hated the cream and the homebase paint picked up every dirty mark going (and we dont have any small ones either)

Kitchen was the 1st thing we did - did the whole works - moved all the electrics and put over 100metres of cable in the ceiling for new lighting.

I wanted the kitchen similar to what you describe but was not allowed the sparkly black worktops!! TOO SPARKLY he said - I ask you - when has anything EVER been "TOO" sparkley!!:rotfl::rotfl:

We have a plain black top and creamy coloured cupboards and went for "Dulux Green Parrot 4" in the kitchen - the green looked WAAAY too much before the cupboards went in - but is now just perfect. (we also tried Green parrot 3, 5 and 6 too!!)
(I would post a picture of the finished job but not allowed to upload attachments yet!)

Have just finished DS bedroom - its duck egg blue and cream - I think the whole house will turn into duck egg blue soon!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Happy planning - and if you need any sample pots I have around 50 of every shade in my garage!!!!

We are just doing our kitchen and picked Natural Calico to go against the black and a feature wall in Cookie Dough. Dulex has a good site that you can play around with colours to blend, contrast, etc.

whats the dulux link i looked but couldnt see a design tool thing online??
