What Color of Shoes. . .

I have wondered for a long time what color of shoes to wear with navy blue pants (non-jean). I usually go with brown sandals but it is still a bit cold for those. Today I wore a blue and cream sweater and thought that cream shoes would be a bit much with such dark pants. I went with black shoes but I am not completely satisfied with that. What do you wear with navy slacks? I have been stressing over this all day! Guess it's been a slow day!

I've got navy shoes ordered and keep watching for the UPS guy. I bought several outfits with navy recently and had no shoes other than black or brown. Most dark blue colors mix and match well so even if you find shoes that aren't an exact match to your slacks, you'll most like still have a great look. At least that's what I think!

Navy, if I had them, but if not I would wear black shoes. Definitely not the cream. If you're wearing sandles, then your options open up a little more.

I appreciate the suggestion of Navy but I don't have any navy shoes! I also have no plans to buy them. I'm sort of a cream, white, brown, black shoe kind of girl- although I shake it up with red sandals!

So you think I'm ok with black then?

Nope, sorry...it's against the law to wear black shoes with navy! Seriously, you can put together anything you like, but I recently tried on my black shoes with the new navy slacks and felt like it drew attention to the fact that I didn't have the "right" shoes for the outfit. That's why I'm waiting for the UPS man. I invested a whole $19.99 on navy sandals through a JC Penney sale catalog. Won't need them often and didn't want to invest much money.

I agree!! I hate black shoes with navy. I just bought a navy blue pinstripe suit and navy pants and bought these shoes to go with: (except they are silver/turquoise)

I agree with the previous poster about black and navy. Those never go well together!

I don't ever buy navy pants for the exact reason you're posting about: can't figure out what to wear with them! I think brown might be your best bet, though.

I have two pairs of dk brown boots that I used to wear with my Navy pants.

I don't do much Navy now for that reason... I don't like having to match to Navy Some do black with navy, but I can't stand it together.

Another shoe question for you experts. Can I wear flats with goucho's? I see them with the wedge heels but no way my knee is gonna be able to do that all day! If I could wear flats then I might get a pair!
