What color makeup to Wear

I'm wearing a dressy black outfit. My complexion is pale. What color eye shadow and lipstick should I go with? Thank you.

I think there are two ways to go for a dressy event when you are pale (and esp if your hair is dark)...

Either highly classic: clean, simple natural colors on eyes and a good red lipstick. make sure you get a good red for you though. I like a nice red with blue undertones for my complexion.

or Sultry: smoky eyes of greys with a twinge of color depending on your eye color and a nutural lipstick with some gloss to it.

Another option is to go to the mall and have them either do it for you or test run it. I love MAC makeup, but I wouldn't go there for a makeover. Typically, Laura Mercier, Clinique, and Bobbi Brown do good jobs. And, never let someone do your makeup whose makeup you don't like (as in, if they look crappy, come back or wait around for someone else). Go in and check out people and then make an appt with one if you want them to do it day of.
