I am considering sprucing up our bedroom/bathroom. It is currently beige and white.. very tranquil.. aka boring.
but then I am a boring, neatnik type of person. Dh will go along with most anything. He is wondering if we have watched to many episodes of Trading Spaces.:) I have no urge to do a major furniture ( oak) overhaul.. just change the color of linens, walls, etc.

Any Fabulous ideas out in DIS'ville?

Thanks,
Joan

We just did a major overhaul in our bedroom this summer. We painted the walls very light green with white ceiling and trim. We painted the wicker tv stand a contrasting shade of green. We bought a white comforter with the same green trim with a few red and yellow flowers (just around the edge). We got a matching oblong pillow that has the same trim and plaid(small) middle and the bed skirt matches(small plaid). The whole bed set was from Sears. We also got matching valance. We ordered furniture (Coastal Cottage by Stanley) from North Carolina and saved a lot of money. The furniture is a depressed white. I love the room. We added framed pics of the Boardwalk purchased in WDW. We have a sort of beach cottage theme. We do live by a beach.

Rasberry Walls. Teal, Mauve, Maroon, and Biege Border and Oriental Area Rugs over a Hardwood Floor. Biege Quilt, Valance and Blinds. Medium Colored Pecan Furniture and the walls are covered with Bird Prints

mine's white right now, but in an hour i'm going to Home Depot to buy some paint (either yellow or yellowish green) and redecorate my room.

My walls all blue, and my rug is beige. I think the combination works good.

Hi Joan.

I look forward to the day that I can paint or paper my walls. Being a military family constantly moving (and renting) we always have plain white walls....ugh. Given the fact we have plain walls I always have to rely on my assesories to add color. My bedroom is mint green in various shades with a splash of pink. The various shades of green help add a contrast and give the room character.

Goodluck with your redecorating, I hope you come up with something you absolutely love.

mine has navy blue carpeting and the ceiling is the same color with a white ceiling fan/light. 2 walls are a creamy beige and the other 2 walls are the same blue sponged over with the beige and light lilac and a touch of seafoam green.
Have you gone to home depot to see what they have? They have a lot of cards that show what the different techniques look like wiht a LOT OF DIFFERENT colors and they have the rollers already with the textured sponges and stuff. It's pretty easy.

Mine is white with a beige carpet, but I'd like a pale teal or turquoise walls.

Yellow with white trim. I had really wanted peach or apricot, but I got tired of deciding, so decided on the "safer" choice.

White walls with a mural on the wall opposite of my bed. It's of the Brooklyn Bridge at night. Right now my room is decorated in like a New York at night theme, but I'm getting ready to change everything and make it all Safari type. I'm looking for a jungle mural right now.

Thank you all for sharing your ideas for your bedrooms. :D
I have looked at so many different books, paint chips and swatches that I overwhelmed my brain. ;) :)
I just have to decide... I am leaning toward sage and light yellow. Which will be completely different than anything I have ever done in the house.
Keep those bedroom ideas coming!
Thank you so much!!

of being redone. It's lavender right now, but recently I bought a massive log bed and I'm going to be doing it in an "up north" theme. The carpet will be a beige tweed berber, the walls will be beige also. I have a glider rocker/ottoman in burgundy and navy, and the comforter/pillowshams/curtains are of a nature theme with bears, canoes, pine trees, etc. I have a matching night stand for the bed, and eventually plan to get a dresser too. I've got a lamp with loons on it, lots of loon and other "up north" accessories that I've bought over the past 3 years, and I want one of those canoe shaped bookcases too. I also want some kind of animal, the taxidermy type....either a raccoon, wolf or cyote....and I'm going to put a dead birch tree in one corner and string white lights on it....can hardly wait until it's all done. Then I'm gonna start in on the guest room. I want a picket fence headboard in there, and decorate in greens/white with lilacs and violets, white wicker furniture, a "garden theme" with accessories...etc. It all takes time and money...so goes slowly...

Mine is called lemon chiffon but you have to look really hard to see the yellow. It just looks beige.

well i guess i am the only one with a RED BEDROOM. i love bright bold colors. guess what color my kitchen is.
