What color are your eyes?

Mine are very light brown.
DHs has grey blue (military says their hazel).
DD(5) are a light blue in middle and darker blue on outside. (she has won several trophys in pageants in best eye catagory *brag brag*)
DD(6mos) has the weirdest eye color. Depends on when you look at them, sometimes blue, green, or this weird reflective color that you can't see color (it's a mixed color).

all three children are a varient of green.

This brings up an a question I have always had. Can people with two blue eyes have children with some other color? A few people have questioned my childrens eye color also? We both have family with blue eyes. I have read descriptions of my childrens eyes in above posts. I think they look great. My dh and I expected all ours would be brown eyed.

I think if you have the light colored gene in your family history it becomes a factor. I always thought brown was dominate, but since blue eyes have been in my family before, blue became dominate and both my girls have blue eyes. Does this make sense?!

DS2's are bright, baby blue. Guess the genetics skipped a generation as my dad has very nice blue eyes.

Two people with blue eyes cannot have a brown eyed child. They can have green though. Brown is dominant, but with two blue eyed parents, they will not have brown as a dominant gene, therefore they cannot pass it to their children...but since green is also recessive, they could possibly pass that on. (if they have green in their genetics). I remember this biology lesson very clearly for some reason! Brown eyed parents can have children with any color eyes.
