What clocks do people use while booking.

First l I know early Dec is very busy and there are limited standard views studio at BLT.

This morning I tried to book Dec 1 to 8 2019. Days were there. I had my finger on the continue button, as soon as the clock on my laptop turned from 7:59 - 8:00, I hit the button. I got no long available. I refreshed and the room is gone for Dec 1.

Am I missing something?

Due to the number of points needed, the first couple of weeks of December is arguably the most popular time for DVC members. With members walking reservations, hopefully after January 8th (your check out date is December 8th), all your days will be available. At 8:01 EST for that beginning date many resorts are "full" for a studio.

You most likely will have to book a day at a time as members move their final desired date out.

I was hoping this was the case, but Nov 30 has not come back yet. Now Dec 1 is gone.

A few days ago, everything was open, even Thanksgiving week. Now that it's MY TRIP, the days are disappearing..... someone doesn't like me.


We have done the first week after Thanksgiving for a number of years. Never had this much trouble.

2020 has a very late Thanksgiving too. As Thanksgiving “moves” you can have most of a week following, or like 2020 be effectively booking 1st week of December which is tough. We started to take a Christmas season trip in 2016 and were able to book a studio at SSR about a month out as we were had that “tween” week.

Good luck, book what you can and fill in as the walkers drop days. You are, as you know trying to book a tough category/season.

Thanks. Since we had taken a trip with two studios in May 2018 at BLT, even with using a few SSR points, we still had to borrow so we are working with limited points.

Thank you, I checked it against my laptop and it seems to be aligned. Maybe not down to the nano-second, but it appeared to the second.

Well, another day, another lost. But I did pick up Nov 30.....I'm guessing walking is in play...but it was not there, not there, THERE, grabbed it. So just refreshing at the right moment. I do have wait lists set up, but that doesn't seem to be working fast enough.

Yours is a typical experience right at 8 a.m. for that time of year for rooms that go quickly. The difference is often not what timepiece you are using but simply whose computers connect quickest with DVC's and the difference can be measured in small fractions of a second.

I tried having two windows open. Nope.... And then I saw the Dec 2 was open. I hit the button and got "no longer available" I'm guessing someone got it. I do have wait list set up, but my understanding that barely helps.

I'm looking for a standard view studio. We go this time almost every year for the last 7 -10 years. This is the first year having such issues. I think the amount of walking is coming into play.

Disneycouple99 posted a link for clock. My clock on the laptop was about 1/4- 1/2 second slow. So I was trying to timing to the government clock, but no luck.

What counts is the clock on the DVC servers, so if you are in synch with an atomic clock but the DVC server is out of synch you are out of luck anyway.
I call this the 8am lottery.

Thank you, I did have Dec 1. I have Nov 30, Dec 1 and 2.

Everyday I set up wait list for day by day. The three days I have I found myself. Then I cancel and set up new wait list. I have wait list set up for Dec 3 and Dec 3-5. I had set up the 3-5 since the 4 was already gone yesterday. But today I will change that to just the fourth. I check at least 20 times a day.


Just grabbed Dec 3. Deleted wait lists and set up new ones.

But now days at the end of the week are disappearing.

Wow! What a painful way to try to get your reservation. Walking has really made a mess of the booking system.

I had two windows open...trying for Dec 5 -8. Got it....put in name, phone number etc, next page, whatever, last page ....hit continue....and get 7 dwarfs . Went to other window and it went through.....even got the confirmation email......

Now I just have to get the Wednesday and I'll be done. Sticking to checking. Not trusting wait list will pick it up.

Have you ever called in to see if the waitlists have matched during this time? They do not seem to disappear anymore so you might have had matches without even knowing it. If people are walking it's perfectly conceivable that you could have a match to the waitlist waiting to be finalized and there's another room that a person has released from their walk.

Many have reported that opening two windows doesn't work anymore. It is possible the problems you've experienced are due to this. When you start a reservation in a window, it seems older sessions are invalidated.
