We're going to Disney in December and are looking for honest opinions about character dining experiences. We always seem to end up at Chef Mickey's, which I love, but want to try something new. We have 3 children: 2 girls who are 5 and 6 and our son is 3. Please help!!

We love Cape May for Breakfast we like to do this one on a late morning around 10ish. In the parks we like Crystal Palace for lunch the food is good & with kids it is kinda nice to have them get out of the park for a moment. we do a 1 o'clock lunch then go find a spot for the parade.

We are going in May and honestly on my second time, the first time was like 14 years ago. Anyway we are taking our 4yr old daughter and made reservations for lunch at Cinderellas castle. Has anyone been there and how is it?

The Castle was a favorite for us. We love Chef Mickey's too. Have you thought about Liberty Tree Tavern? My three loved the interaction of the characters there.

Definitely Ohana! We went during grand gathering trip and everyone from 10 months to 54 loved it! We'll be going back this trip!

I think we have done every character experience there is in Disney. Chef Mickey's is always good for b-fast or dinner. Akershus is a great alternative for the princesses (breakfast is much better food than any other time). Garden Grill is good for a lunch alternative with the classic characters. Hollywood and Vine is good for alternative type characters (I think its little einsteins). Crystal Place is the only one with Pooh, etc. and mught be good for your little boy. Liberty Tree Tavern is a bit out of the way for dinner and is a very filling meal to do too.

Hope this helps

My DD & DS highly recommend:

LTT in MK
'Ohana in the Poly
1900 PF in GF

This picture is great!!

How did you get all of the characters at once?? :)

Thanks so much for all the great advice, I love the Chef Mickey's picture, your family is adorable!!!
We had a little change of plans and have added 5 more people to our party, so now we're a Grand Gathering :dance3: . Has anyone had experience with the special GG experiences, such as the fireworks cruise or Illuminations dinner. I was having a tough time planning for a family of 5, planning for 10 is going to be a nightmare  . Of course I'm not complaining, I'd rather be planning a trip for 10 to Disney than just about anything else  . Thanks!!!

I second both the Ohana and LTT recommendation. Great character interaction and good food too!

Thanks for correcting me. I saw Minnie and made an assumption, I had no idea all those characters were at LTT. Thanks!!

We preferred Garden Grill to LTT, we didn't like the food . But it is the only place we saw Minnie!!LOVED CP It's my favorite. we ate dinner there. We had breakfast at H&V with the Little Einsteins and really enjoyed it the buffet was good and the characters were GREAT!!

We have gone to the Crystal Palace twice. The food is pretty ordinary, but you get Tigger and Pooh. The best way to do it is to get the earliest seating in the morning. That way get into the park before it opens. This is a surreal event. It is so empty. Then you finish fairly quickly and can be waiting at the rope drop just outside whichever land you want. That way you can grab a fastpass or jump right on a ride.

Note faces stuffed with food :)

We have gone twice and really like Chef Mickey's also Donald's Restaurantsaurus in Animal Kingdom (but I think they my have moved that). We went back to both of those on our 2nd trip.

I don't think we will do Cinderella's Castle again. I don't think it is worth 2 meals on dining plan.

I did like Ohana and Liberty Tree.

Crystal Palace was ok.

We really enjoyed the 50's Diner at Hollywood Studios (formerly MGM).

I also liked Akershus (spelling???) in Epcot, they had alot of Princesses there for your girls.

I was not too thrilled with Garden Grill in Epcot, I would skip that one.

We have booked chef mickeys for 0810...where is minnie mouse? I am trying to get a 1900 park fare, but not so lucky.:headache:
