We did two last month, so I will share my experience.
We went to Minnies and Friends Breakfast at the Plaza Inn on a Magic Mornings Day. It reminded me of going to CRT before park opening. I just love walking down a deserted Main Street.
The Plaza Inn reminds me of CP. It's on the other side of Main Street, but around the hub. There are outdoor and indoor seating. I asked to be indoors because it was chilly and I didn't want to leave my kids outside while I did buffet runs.
The buffet was fine, the standard fare. Mickey waffles, french toast, pastries, and fruit are in the center section. There is a line for hot items and another item for cereal, etc. I was suprised that we had to get our own drinks at Minnies. The only real table service we got was our plates cleared.
I could not believe how MANY characters came to the tables. They all took time and interacted with everyone. There were several instances where multiple characters were near and were happy to take pictures together. We had over a dozen different characters visit our table...Chip, Dale, Pluto, Briar Fox, Briar Rabbit, Captain Hook, Rafiki, Eeyore, Tigger, Honest John (had to look him up afterward

), Fairy Godmother, Minnie...that's who I can remember.
The character interaction was the best of any character meal we have ever done. And we have done ALL the meals at WDW....Chef Mickey's, 1900 Park Faire, Tusker House, etc.
The next day we had brunch at Goofy's Kitchen. Since this was supposed to be a higher level of experience we were super excited to go. The character that greets you is different throughout the day. We saw Pluto and Baloo taking pictures. We got Baloo! We thought it was the start of more "rare" characters. Wrong. We got to our table and Goofy came along quickly. We were happy to see that our server did drink orders, but soon learned that we wished we got get our own since we never saw him again. Someone else came to take plates, but we never got any refills.
Pluto, Chip, and Dale soon followed Goofy. The interaction seemed more rushed than Minnie, but understandable because this place seemed more popular. Then we had a 30+ minute drought between characters before Goofy came by again. I did a walk through our section and saw Jasmine and Aladdin making their way through. We waited an additional 20 minutes to meet them and decided to go since we didn't see any other characters on the horizon.
The food had much more variety at GK, but the quality seemed the same. This was a brunch, so they had salads, pizzas, and desserts. And a higher price tag, plus this was holiday season and it made for one expensive meal.
We are going in two weeks and made plans to return to Minnies. If you like CP, I think you will have a good experience here. It gets my vote.
The thing that surprised me how they make you pay your meals before you get seated. This created a small line at Minnies, but Goofy's took awhile to get processed, photographed, and seated.
