What celeb can't you stand?

Actually, they're all getting on my nerves, which is why I watch so much Food TV. :p

I really cannot stand Daisy Fuentes! Don't know why but I really can't stand her.

I need to add Barbara Walters to my list. I will never watch a Barbara Walters interview again.

Jeff. you made my day. Now, Susan Sarandon's MOM is someone I'd LOVE to meet...very honest, and down to earth.
"I am a conservative. I voted for George W. Bush and I simply agree with most everything he has said," Tomalin told us yesterday from the Northern Virginia home of keyboardist John Carroll, her son-in-law, and daughter Meredith Carroll, one of Sarandon's eight siblings. "It's not that I'm pro-war. It's just that I think that I trust my government more than I would empathize with the government of Iraq."

Of Sarandon's anti-Bush activism, Tomalin said: "That's a given. That's the way she thinks. That's what Hollywood thinks. We don't agree, but I respect her -- more than she does me." But surely, we suggested, Tomalin's 56-year-old eldest child respects her mother's opinions. "Wanna bet?" Tomalin scoffed. Sarandon's office didn't respond yesterday to our detailed message and fax.

"When I visit Susan, I tread on eggs," Tomalin said. "The most difficult time was during the election of 2000. I live in Florida, and I was a Republican poll-watcher in Polk County. Afterward, I was sitting at the breakfast table with Jack Henry, my then-13-year-old grandson, and he looked over at me, with the sweetest little smile on his face, and said, 'I hear you voted for Bush.' I looked up at Susan, who's standing at the sink, and she says, 'All he wants to know is: How could you have voted for Bush?' And I thought, 'I'm not going to discuss my politics with a 13-year-old who has been brainwashed!' But I just let it go -- even though I have never been as rabid as I have been during the past few years."

Celine Dion. She annoys me to no end.

Wait, Susan Sarandon's mother is talking to the Washington Post about her daughter, not giving her daughter the benefit of the doubt to think on her own (its what Hollywood thinks, dontcha know), accuses her grandson of being brainwashed, yet Susan Sarandon is the judgemental one?

Hmmmmm, looks to me that its quite the opposite. Show me the article where Susan Sarandon is publically trashing her mother, and you may change my mind.

Jeff - I read the article and I see it very differently. I don't think Seradan asked her to curb her opinions at all, because the article states that people were "shocked" and "charmed" by a "fiesty supporter of President Bush". They were shocked that she was Seradan's mom. The title even quotes Seradan's mom. She's the one who said "... But I just let it go -- even though I have never been as rabid as I have been during the past few years." Sounds pretty outspoken to me. :)

Honestly, I don't follow anything celebrities say or do. This is what I know about Susan Seradan, and all I know. I know that her views are very liberal, that she is outspoken and takes a lot of heat for her unpopular opinions, but I don't know what those opinions are, I've never read them. :) I only know what I read here. I have seen interviews with her, before the Bush "stuff" and she seemed like a decent person to me. In my opinion, she is an excellent actress and I won't stop seeing her movies because of her opinions. :)

Here's the article:

Susan Sarandon's 'Rabid' Republican Mom
By Lloyd Grove
Tuesday, March 18, 2003; Page C03

Guests at Mark and Ali Russell's annual St. Patrick's Day house party were charmed Sunday by 79-year-old Lenora Tomalin, a feisty supporter of President Bush and his take-no-prisoners stance toward Iraq's Saddam Hussein.

But they were shocked when Tomalin identified herself -- to the likes of Tim Russert and Maureen Orth, Chris and Kathleen Matthews, and Joe diGenovan and Victoria Toensing -- as the mother of Susan Sarandon.

That Susan Sarandon -- who has been leading the charge of the Hollywood left against Bush and the pending military action (claiming it will simply further American imperial designs and appropriate Iraqi oil) and who shares three of Tomalin's 19 grandchildren with actor Tim Robbins.

Afterward, I was sitting at the breakfast table with Jack Henry, my then-13-year-old grandson, and he looked over at me, with the sweetest little smile on his face, and said, 'I hear you voted for Bush.' And I thought, 'I'm not going to discuss my politics with a 13-year-old who has been brainwashed!' But I just let it go -- even though I have never been as rabid as I have been during the past few years."

Tomalin -- a fan of Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and Vice President Cheney -- added that she was bitterly disappointed last Christmas when she was visiting Washington and unable to arrange a tour of the White House decorations. "I tried everybody, and nothing could be done for me," she said. "I'll go to my grave angry about that."

But she's planning a return trip in May, and somehow we think that the somebody at the White House -- Karl Rove, are you reading this? -- will find a way to make an old lady happy.

A) I don't think she was "trashing" anyone...just stating her opinions, in just a feisty, outspoken and open manner when the obvious comparison is made, and B) I certainly have no desire to change anyone's opinion, but rather state my own. :)

Mare, her mother said that Susan is judgemental about her political leanings, yet the only person I see being judgemental in that article is the mother herself.

I wasn't specifically pointing to you when I said show me the article where Susan speaks out about her mother. Just making an observation, thats all. :) I'm just not clear on why Jeff in Big D posted that link because it seems as though the mother has a lot more to say about her daughter's political leanings than vice versa.

Madonna sort of annoys me now, I used to like her.

Err...I didn't happen to have anything to do with that now did I Snoops?

You mean can't stand BESIDES Eminem??? Believe it or not - Kevin Costner, Richard Gere and Keanu Reeves all come to mind (IMHO all are BIGTIME over actors...)

Not to sure if you consider him a celeb or not - but Eric Lindross (met him at a bar after we performed at the NHL awards here in Toronto - the guy is slime...)

...and Celine? Whew...someone take that woman out of her misery and tell her that the boat sank already...

Ah! I thought about that...that you weren't pointing to me...after I posted, but left to eat the cheese off the top of my pizza...Atkins, you know...and just got back. ;)

I think what SS's mother is saying about SS being judgemental is that she's judgemental privately towards her...why would SS make public statements about her mother's political opinions (before this, anyway), when her mother hadn't made public statements (as far as I know) about her own political opinions before this? It seems as tho her mother only made public statements at this point since SS is so outspoken, the subject is bound to come up when people find out she's SS's mother. (Ya got all that?)

But...I think this is a little off-topic here.

I seem to remember this subject coming up when Bush was elected. You know, with all the chads and stuff in Florida.

I believe it was then, that I first saw SS say a few things about her mothers politics. Nothing bad, just that they don't agree.

I like Susan, but I think you need to draw a line on how much you put out there. She has strong opinions, and voices them often.
I admire that, but please don't let our troops here any negative comments.
They have enough to deal with right now.

I could care less what any actor's political stands are, that doesn't bother me.

I have never been a J-Lo fan, she can't act and I don't even like her voice. It does bother me that she never stays married for longer than 9 months. She's really the only one that annoys the heck out of me though.

Anyone watching the Rivers' Red Carpet show wonder if Joan needs more ice for her drink? She is so off tonight it is pathetic!
CC

I turned on the Red Carpet show for about 3 minutes before I had to turn it off. They get on my nerves.

Let's see... other celebrities I can't stand...

Gallagher (not that big of a celebrity though)
Kevin Costner (remember when he used to be able to act and did good movies?)
William Shatner

I'm sure I'll think of more later on. LOL

CC, you've got me LMBO!!!

There are a lot of celebrities I cannot stand right now. J-Lo, Martin Sheen, George Clooney (although I used to like him), and Anna Nicole Smith...just to name a few!

OOhhhh! Forgot about Anna Nicole and Gallagher! What a couple they would make!!! LOL

What about Cato?
Liza Minnelli?

I admire that, but please don't let our troops here any negative comments.

I haven't heard Susan Sarandon make any negative comments about our troops. Just because she doesn't like the President doesn't mean she is less than supportive of our troops. If that is not the case, and she has spoken negatively about our troops, then put her on the list of celebrities I can't stand. The true heros in every war are the young men and women who put their lives on the line for this country, not the old men who give the orders.

Although you've reminded me of another celeb I can't stand. Jane Fonda. I hated the way she behaved toward our troops in VietNam, plus she is a liar. I remember in the 80's when she came out with her workout videos, swearing she never had plastic surgery, and that we too could look like her if we just did her video 5 days a week. Then a journalist caught her coming out of the plastic surgeons office, and as it turns out, she has had everything lifted! Blech, she is on the top of my list.

Can't say I really hate anyone.....just very tired of hearing about J.Lo, Madonna, Jennifer Aniston, Britney Spears.
