What causes lurkers to finally post?

I just started posting and I lurked a good bit in fact I am still more of a lurker then a poster as you can see by my post count.

We were all at that point sometime! Just jump in wherever you feel comfortable. I started with lots of questions Then spread to offering info that I figured that others might be able to use. Glad you joined

I lurked, I listened, I learned!! Then I posted and learned some more. Felt really naked until I had at least a little bit of signature!! Still learning about the graphics.

Have learned a lot in a short time...saved quite a bit of money already (except probably will end up spending it on the "stuff" every one keeps suggesting!!)

Can't imagine posting enough to earn my ears but will keep trying!!!

My DSis lurked for a good year. Fiinally, I just signed her up (with her knowledge - she was with me and gave me the info.) The rest, as they say, is history! Now she is even more addicted than I am!

Oh, and by the way, I first started posting after a short lurk-period. I found the boards after doing some searches for DVC. I posted some questions and people were very happy to help! I bought and don't regret it one bit! Don't be hesistant to post. Most people here are very nice. You occassionally get a sarcastic jerk acting all holier-than-Disney-thou, but ignore them. In fact, the moderators are starting to delete posts from those kinds of people, and I appreciate that!

Well this post was MADE for me....haha. I have been lurking for a really long time, I do not know exactly why I have never posted but whew what a relief I am glad I am now. I had to think of a name too, LOL. I feel like I can answer some other posts now too. Welcome to the newbies, and to everyone else (that I feel I already know hello to you as well!

this must be my downfall, ive never lurked, rather i type without thinking most the time.. gotten me in trouble in the past. but no never lurked or been worried about posting online, i guess i still look at it as annonymous in a sense

I lurked for months too. I guess I was just afraid I would sound stupid or something and it seemed as if there were so many cliques, but then one day I just thought "well who the heck cares, they DO seem like one big happy family here." and now here i am finally posting. I have found so many useful tips and cant wait to use them for our trip. I know once I get back, I'll post a lot more because then I can actually start answering questions instead of asking them LOL Anywho
