The last time I ate here was in 1996. More than a decade?!!? Geez...

Anyway, I just booked this for our arrival day in September thinking my kids would like it because they could watch the fish while we eat. Our ADR is at 4:20pm, so if we get there early enough, I'm thinking I'll have a good sporting chance at a table right next to the aquarium.

So, how's the food? And is it weird eating seafood while you watch it swim in the tank? :lmao: No, seriously, though. What are some not to be missed dishes? We're not on the dining plan, but we do have DDE.

THANKS!

We loved it! Our ds16 13 at the time went for his b'day. I personally loved the shrimp. It was like shrimp steak! So big! I loved the bisque, although it had a strong alcohol taste my dh didn't appreciate much. Enjoy!

You watch some fish swimming in a tank and then you eat some fish while watching some other fish swimming in a tank. Its like eating chicken salad on rye in a coop.

Coral Reef was our favorite restraunt. The food is excellent, we especially like the shrimp cocktail. The goldrush (california gold or something like that...) dessert was really good too. I have some kind of herb crusted fish with israeli couscous. EXCELLENT. While we were there the divers were in the tank, very fun to see. The diver held up a sign to the table next to us, the gentlemen was purposing marriage and the divers were asking from inside the tank. It was great.

heads up if you ate ther in 1996, if you remember the seafood sampler platters, they no longer have those. :( I was SOOOOO disappointed, as that was my favorite meal there from our 1996 trip!

Well, all I remember from that trip is my dad complaining about how expensive the restaurant was. I was 18 and just out of college. However, I am now happy to report that my dad is just fine with Disney prices. Not a complaint in the last 5 trips! I guess since becoming a grandpop, he's becoming soft - LOL!

Thanks for the (mostly) positive replies. I am looking forward to this meal!

Had a delicious lunch there a couple of years ago. Some fish special - was really really good! Get there early, and say you'll be willing to wait a few minutes to sit by the tank. It's worth it!

The scenery at Coral Reef is awesome, and even if you are not right next to the aquarium the view is still great. As food as the food goes, it is hit and miss. I guess since i live on the Chesapeake Bay its hard to beat the seafood restaurants around here, but Coral Reef is not too bad
