What can you tell me about DisneyQuest?

On departure day, we need to check out by 11, but really don't need to catch a shuttle until evening. This gives us another full day at Disney, but we won't be able to head back to our room for the afternoon break. Since it would be indoors and away from the heat, I was wondering what DisneyQuest had to offer? I've got 2 girls, 9 & 7. Admission would be included with our UPH, so it wouldn't be an additional expense. Do you think it's good option for the afternoon or would you recommend more park time? We're only staying 5 days, so we certainly wouldn't be out of things to do.

DQ is lots of fun. If you feel you have covered the parks pretty well. I would go to DQ.

we both really like dq (dh even more than me! :p )

i agree -- if you have the time, i would go. :)

Disney Quest is awesome! Girls that age will probably love the Pirates of the Caribbean game, the Astro Blasters, and the various sports games. Some kids could spend a week at Disney Quest and never visit the parks! Definitely worth a trip.

I am going in September and have also never been, but...

my advice is to try it out! I have read nothing but rave reviews about this place, and it seems like there is something for everyone.

Check out this detailed review from a couple (sans children):

This review convinced me to give it a try. ;)

DisneyQuest is a blast. Your kids will love it...especially if they like video games.

Here's what I thought about DQ. It was designed by a moron. :p But seriously, the layout of the place is rather unusual. It has kind of a "stacked" setup - with very little open space to move around in. When it gets crowded, you really feel it. I'm not big into video games, so it wasn't much fun for me (with the exception of Cyber Space Mountain which was awesome) - but my DD and DH were in heaven. I left them to the games and went and got myself some cheesecake and a coffee - now THAT was worth going in for. ;)

Your kids will love it - you should go.:D

My DH and DS(10 then, 14 now) went when we were there in March of 99, and I went shopping.......I've read a lot about it, and have decided to give it a go - and it's included in our UPHP's

It's nice knowing I will have cheesecake to fall back on if I'm not crazy about it !!

Disney Quest is a lot of fun! Make sure to go on the Pirates of the Caribbean! :)

I have quite a few pictures HERE.

I know that your UPHP gets you in, but do you have to pay for each game you play once inside?

From what I have read, I believe that there are a few attractions that you have to pay extra for, but I don't know which ones...

I'm sure someone who has been recently would know?

No, all attractions are free EXCEPT those that you do to earn points for prizes (like shirts and such). Check out the link I posted above for an insider perspective.
